I have tryed a usb stick but I just get error messages.

I have my DM8000 fully set up, but am having big issues with the speed.

I'm getting around 100-500k/s transfers on the internal network to/from the dreambox. Obviously this is far too low to be able to do anything meaningful eg. streaming, copying large files etc.

Everything else on the network can talk to each other at at least 6Mb/s, so its not the network, its the dreambox, or so it would seem.

Have tried both WiFi and Ethernet with the same result

Just to eliminate the possibility I have tried connecting to it from Windows, Linux (Ubuntu), and Mac OSX, again with the same results.

I am using the latest pLi image.

It doesn't make any difference if there is a DVD disc in the machine or not.

I have an 8gb SD card which I am trying to get my DM8000 to recognise but no luck so far. If I insert the card when booted up device manager does not pick it up on a scan. If I carry out a power off /full reboot still no evidence in device manager.

Is the only way to get it to be recognised is to have it inserted when I install an image to flash ? I suspect the drivers are automatically installed in this case ! I have just installed BH 0.12 to flash and would prefer not to to have to reinstall it. Any ideas to get it recognised would be appreciated. Retrospective install of SD drivers ? If so how to do this ?

I am about to return my Humax Foxsat HDR due to the fact that you can't have proper EPG with non-freesat channels (and other complications casued by this).

I came across the Dreambox 8000 HD and am thinking about purchasing one with 2 DVB-S2 receivers. I already have a motorised dish and a second fixed one pointing at 28.2.

Here are my assumptions:
1) I will be able to receive all FTA channels (incl. HD ones) from 19.2 and 28.2.
2) There will be full EPG for the channels on 19.2.
3) There is a plug-in or similar available to get the freesat EPG.
4) I can fit a 1TB 3.5'' disk.
5) I can record one channel from each dish or 2 from the same (with restrictions) simultaneously.

Is there anything else I need to have/buy?

I feel daft for asking realy as i have already had all this working in multiboot but decided to wipe it cos i had recording issues (turned out to be epg settings and not multiboot!) and now i cant get it to work again. I remember i had to chmod some files but cant remember which ones :confused:
