Can anyone out there help please Tried to flash my box using Dreamup V1.3.3.4 with black hole enigma2, this seemed to load ok but as the box was rebooting I receiveed a System Message as follows:-

"Hardware could not be verified please contact Dream Multimedia Support"

Can anyone help me rescue my box or is it now a 'brick'

I asm a complete Newbie----hence I do not know what I'm doing. Trying to follow the Sticky "how to's" but messed up.

Here's my experience on installing 5 lnbs
on a dm800:
The good post fromAnaloguesat gave me
the inspiration (for 8 lnbs) the menus on
the 800 are a bit different though.
first i needed to replace my 4 way diseqc
switch for an 8 way unit, like in the picture.
I think it's an uncommitted switch.
then go to menu, settings, service search,
tuner configuration,
Config. mode: advanced
Sat.: whichever
LNB: LNB 1,2,3,4 or 5
Priority: Auto
LOF: Universal lnb
Voltage: Polarisation
Increased voltage: no
Tone mode: Band
Diseqc mode: 1.1
Toneburst: none
Committed Diseqc command: None
Fast Diseqc: no
Sequence: no
Command order: comm., Uncomm., toneburst
Uncommited Diseqc command: Input 1,2,3,4 or 5
Diseqc repeats: none

There, it may not be the best way to do it,
but it works fine for me, I can quickly switch
from one satellite to another.

I have a quick question regarding connecting my 800HD to my PC!

I originally tried to flash it via OTA ip address, but for whatever reason it failed and now I'm getting "ERR01: NO CA FOUND"

I have been trying to get hold of a cable and the best I could get so far is a USB => RS232 (Female)

I assumed this would work. I have tried connecting this via DreamUp and using the drivers that came with the cable, its defo pointing to COM3 but nothing is happening.

I was browsing the web and found a link that said this:

Null Modem Cable (this is NOT the same as a serial or rs232 cable, although it looks the same)"

Anyway, to cut a long story short...

Does it DEFINITELY have to be a null modem? (I thought the RS232 was a null modem?)

and, importantly... does the null modem have to be the same on each end, or can it be USB => Null Modem? Because I don't have the RS232 / Serial connection on my PC, as most new PCs don't any more?

Any help / advice much appreciated!

My DM800 does drive the motor but when it wants to. So I know the motor does work with my DM800. It just has a life of its own. I used the increased voltage option under the LNB settings but it hasn't done anything.

I know there are new drivers that can be installed that are supposed to correct the motor problems but aren't these included in the newer images ?

Also the tuner in my DM800 is soooooooo slow in registering a signal that I drive the dish past the correct position because it's so slow in updating when I try to program in my motor positions.

I have tried two images Nabilo Blackhole V12 and Gemini 4.5 but it hasn't made much difference.

Are other people still having these problems or is it just me ?

tried today to view sky sports hd1 but said tune failed.

did a rescan and now hd1 and hd2 aren't even being picked up! hd3 working fine.

ive lost a few hd channels too inc sky 1 hd, the listings show them as N/A or greyed out.

could this be lnb problem or tuner issue?

I bought myself a eSata/USB Caddy for my machine hooked it all up using the eSata connection, Everything connects fine hard drive records but what i notice is when i go back to my computer my home network is very very slow cannot open webpages and when i turn the Hard Drive off my network connection goes back to normal.


This has been frustrating me for nearly a month now and i cant seem to figure it out, Has anyone else had this problem, If so how was it cured?
