Feedhorn Housing Cover/Lens

Hi,

I am changing the original feedhorn on my Fibo 1.20m x 1.35m Gregorian Prime Focus dish and I am putting on the Invacom adjustable feedhorn but I have noticed that I also need a new cover/lens on the feedhorn housing as mine has warped due to deterioration from the sun after 13 years of service.

I cannot find anyone anywhere who stocks the cover/lens, so, does anyone here know where I can get this piece of kit from or provide a link to a seller?

Thanks,
Zorch

My System: 1.2M & 55cm Gregorian Dish`s, 1.5m Gibertini on a Jaeger 1224 H-H motor. Dreambox 7025 200gb HD, Vbox-II. SS2 Card.

You will find it difficult to source parts for your off set dish.

Why do you want to change the feed?

Hi crossbones,

I am just upgrading, I have read several reports that the Invacom adjustable feedhorn can potentially gain a small, but fairly significant, amount of signal quality to enhance weak satellite signals.

I read that the 'shinyer (dodgy spelling) the better' and the original feedhorn on my Fibo is very matt cast alloy and the only way to find out is to experiment, isn't it? It is always a reversible process.

Anyway, the question I am asking is if anyone knows where can I find a replacement cover/lens for the feedhorn housing?

Thanks for any replies and suggestions.

Thanks,
Zorch

Hi again Snuffer,

Could you explain to me how I fit the Invacom adjustable feedhorn to my dish because I have tried to do it myself a few days ago but I cannot see any way of fitting it?

I thought it was just a case of taking off the C120 LNB from the cone... taking the cap off the front of the cone and sliding the Invacom adjustable feedhorn into the cone and then re-attaching the C120 LNB and then using the screw thread on the Invacom adjustable feedhorn to set the focal distance... and that was all there was to it!

But I came across these major problems while trying to fit it that way:-

1/ The screw on concentric circle end of the invacom adjustable feedhorn will not go far enough inside the cone housing to enable the cylindrical part of the feedhorn to reach the back of the cone to attach it... the circumference of the concentric circle end is too big to do that.

2/The cone housing is an all in one piece which attaches by means of a bolt to the feed arm and without the cone housing being attached to the feed arm there is no way of supporting the Invacom adjustable feedhorn and the C120 LNB.

I am at a total loss now as to how it can be fitted on to my dish... Help!!

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Best Wishes,
Zorch

I have never do that so i can not help you with it.
i think you must remove the orginal Fibo part and make a new one for that Invacom feedhorn part.

You are in the UK otherwise you can send me the parts and we look for a salution. can you make foto's from it so i can see it??
