Questions from a new Fibo owner

Greetings Fibo-brethren!
Iīve just managed to get my hands on a 90 cm original one that I plan to mount on a moteck sg2100a.
Iīve emailed Satmueller to see how much he wants for a fixed mount since the dish came with a polarmount.
My main concern is now the feedhorn, it came with a polarizer that Iīve removed and it looks like a standard c120 fitting on it. The problem is that thereīs no plastic cover on the feedhorn and it doesnīt look like thereīs ever been one. has anyone come across this type of feedhorn before? and if so: is there spare covers to be obtained from somewhere?
Iīm enclosing three pics so you can see what Iīm up against

Rgds, Korpen.

My System: 1.2M, & 55cm Gregorian Dish`s, 1.8m Precision dish Jaeger 1224 H-H motor.Dreambox 800, Vbox-II. SS2 Card.

There probably was a cover over the feed.

Its held in place by a metal band around the edge. You will find it difficult to source and repair!

dorsetbob had the same problem in a thread lower down. Maybe he had a result?

My System: 60cm SKY Dish with PACE Digital Digibox, 90cm PHILIPS (Fibo clone) Gregorian (started with all original features). MTI AP8-TW LNB. TECHNOMATE 5500 CIP PLUS Receiver, STRONG 4375(as Backup)

Hi Korpen

Firstly let me welcome a new Fibo owner.
Crossbones is right I did start a thread about the feed cover as I wanted to take it off as it looked as if it was not the right shape.
Some pictures show the cover with a slight dome shape.
No one has had the same problem as far as I am aware and as mine seems to work ok I haven't played around with it.
I have read in a previous thread that Snuffer offered someone a spare but that was quite a long time ago.
Ron(Snuffer)will pick up on this post and still might have some spares.
Sorry I can't help but as good as these dishes are,the spare parts are becoming more difficult to source.

Thanks for your input mateys!
It would be nifty if I could source the original cap instead of having to botch something together.
If Snuffer doesnīt pick up on this Iīll Pm him.
Iīll probably need some more help further on but itīs -10 degrees and snow on the roof at the moment so itīll be closer to the summer.

Rgds, Korpen.

First is this a 55 or a 90 ???? if's 90 you are missing a plastic part that are between the feedhorn and the corner named boom a green plastic or red

This Aluring with plastic round are not simpel to get.
I have a compleet feedhornpart thats no piont what you can do are:
On some catfood boxes are a plasticcap this one are ecxatly the good size for the horn.
With "gluw" make it compleet.

The ather parts you looking for i have them n stock Used and new.

My System: Topfield 5800 Echostar3000,DB7000, Relook 400S, Humax HDC2000, 55cm Fibo Gregorian dish with waveguide and Motek 2100 mod, 90cm Fibo Gregorian dish, 120cm Fibo Gregorian dish on a 1224 motor with waveguide

The last couple of Inverto C120's that I bought, had a plastic film attached across the aperture, so that the missing one on the front would not matter.

Do you think that a plastic film could be applied on the c120 adapter end of the feedhorn in all cases no matter what c120 lnb you use?

Sure will matey!

But as I said earlier itīll have to wait `til spring, allthough itīs pretty mild for the season itīs still -3.5 at the moment.
Iīve got rolls of plastic film that we use to windproof our wooden houses and thatīs made to stand the test of time, that would certainly do the trick.
Appreciate the idea!

Rgds, Jonas.

As long as it hasn't got a metalic coating.

I donīt think so but I will check it before I put it there, otherwise Iīll propably notice it in terms of bad signal.

I got my Inverto C120 yesterday and thatīs got plastic film on it as well, so the catfood-lid will only have to serve as an obsticle for the creepy crawlers.

Now Iīm just waiting for a quotation on a fixed mount from Snuffer.
Since my birthdayīs coming up shortly, Iīm pretty certain that Iīll get permission from "She who must be obeyed" to get a Moteck-motor.
After that Bobīll certainly be my uncle.
