slight problem with fibo

just put a 1.2m fibo dish up with motor alined it to 0.8w then did some slight adjustments and all was fine tracked east satellites and pulled them all in
tried to find 7w and could not find it and b4 you start saying your dish is too small i had a 1.3m and got most of the v on there so a fibo 1.25x1.45 shoud find them one other thing that i could not get my head round was that when i was parked on 28.2e the motor was at 35e so i tried moveing to 28e on motor setting and moveing the whole thing east but couldnt get a lock on the sat any1 any ideas why the motor would be on 35e but pointig at 28.2e and why i couldnt get a lock on 7w when i could with my 1.3m eurostar dish

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

It will do, if you add 2 degrees to 28.2 as you are at 2 degrees West, then add magnetic variation, it comes to around 35 degrees.

Download the Swedish Microwave calculator from _www.smw.se it will give you the actual motor readings for the different birds.

This is normal. The satellites track an almost perfect circle around the equator. The reason for the discrepancy is that you are not at the centre of that circle. The Earth's axis at the centre, whereas you are on the Earth's surface several thousand miles from the circle's centre.
