My System: Fortec Passion + HD box and dish
newbie messes up an update :S

HI guys

i have had a Fortec star Passion + for about a year now , and have only decided to go and try and update it. now as a newbie i have read over what to do and through the forums yet have still managed to mess up the box some how :S, it currently wont load correctly and is stuck in a reboot cycle.

What i did was load the loader and then rebooted the reciever i think removed the usb and loader .dnl and added the firmware update .dnl then while installing the firm ware the reciever rebooted and is now sitting with the USB currently inserted and the display saying File 1.

Is anyone able to help me sort out this mess i have created :S, as the title states i am new to all this

Try this. Switch off the box, remove the USB stick and make sure you only have the loader.dnl on the stick. Now plug in the USB stick with the loader file on it and switch back on. You should get 'file read' on the front display, then 'file 1'. Press the box's 'OK' button and you see '1 Loader'.

Press OK again and it should go through the loading sequence and end with 'Power off'.

Switch off the box and remove your stick. It should now boot up with the loader, after which you can load the firmware.

As the box is waitng for the boot file, seems to suggest the file is corrupt in some way. Have you tried reformatting your USB stick and replacing the file?

Good news. A Dragon/TRex CAM and Sky card will work OK in the Passion.
