My System: Satellite Dish 1.6m Hotbird 13E, DreamBox 7000S with Gemini 4.4.0; Dish 1.2m Amos 4W, Nokia 9600S; Nokia 9800S; Hauppauge Nexus-S PCI Card

He battled for 3 days against the Tux and won! Hurray!!

I doubt if 1.8m will enable you to view those satellites. Perhaps some channels from Astra but none from 28.2E
You should be looking at 5m at least.
Where abouts in the ME?

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

As few of us read Hebrew that forum is useless to most members of this forum!

You can forget much off 28E with such a tiddly dish.

If you want the BBC & ITV channels you are looking at something over 7m diameter!

Still from your expeariance which antenna
will give better performances CH or Patriot
Buy the way I'm aware of that only part of the beams can be received
with this size of Antenna.

Sorry cant advise on which is the better dish - I use battered second hand salvage dishes, knock the worst dents out and put them back into use!

Good morning agil,

Is 1.8m the maximum size that you can install in your house/apartment?
If you can consider the next size of 2.4m, then you might pick up some more channels from both satellites.

My two dishes are aliminum and I am happy with my choice.
Can't comment about fiberglass.

HB13DISH,

You notice that I'm talking about an Offset option that is better then
the PF. Also as you probably know that the 1.8 dihes in our region
are not from the best grade.
That is the reason why I'm hoping that the new dish will provide better
performances.

I asked if you can consider 2.4m, as I don't believe that 1.8 offset will make a lot of improvements. Hope that I am wrong. But as you are going to invest in good quality dishes and in the installation which is not cheap, you might as well go the extra mile, if this is at all possible in your apartment/house.
