My System: Sharp Aquos Panasonic HD DVD recorder Sky receiver Humax Icord receiver FTA DigitalSD with hard drive Gilbertini 1,25m
Finding ITV HD for a beginner

Hi,

As I mentioned before, I am a raw beginer & don't understand the specialised jargon that many of you use.
Also not computer minded.
I live just outside of Munich in Germany & now have a brand new Humax Icord linked up to a 1,25 meter dish. There is a nice strong signal & I can get all of the FTA channels that I know of except for ITV HD.
I understand that it needs to be tuned in manually & is on Eurobird not Astra? (28.5°)

The information from this forum is as follows:-
Service ID 0000
PMT PID 3400
Video PID 3401
Audio PID 3402
PCR PID 3401
Sub PID 8192
Teletext PID 8192
Video " PID FALSE
Service Menu ITV HD

Now I have absolutely no idea of how to find a way of entering this information into my Humax.
Would someone be kind enough to give me a sort of step by step guide as how to do the necessary please.

PS I have appealed to Timhan for the help he previousl offered but fear that he has now left the Munich area.

Many thanks in advance for any help you can offer.
John

That's odd.
I thought I'd started a new thread with my question but it seems that it's now linked into another, which appears to quote the parameters needed but no description of how it is done.

Yes, that's why I moved it here, as your question is receiver specific. It is not a general Freesat question, unless someone has this receiver or has used one, they cannot answer your question.

Placing the question here, should attract members with knowledge of the receiver menus.

Hi, try googling for

Uniformula channel editor Icord

or Editor de canais icord. You may come accross it.

Yup, I've found the Uniformula & think I've downloaded it onto my lap top.
Now what do I do please?
as mentioned before an ABC of steps would help a raw beginner like me.

Up in the section "New FTA Channels" an excel table of available channels would be very useful & save wading through all of the old posts.
A column noting solutions to problems such as those encountered with Ch 4 HD & ITV HD would also be of great help.
Excuse me if this already exists & I have missed it.

Cheers
John

The way the channel editors normally work is that the software on your PC can read from and create a channel list file. This file can them be download to and uploaded from the receiver. Depending on the receiver capabilities, this is normally done via a USB Stick or by an RS232 connection (normally null-modem). I suggest that you explore the software to understand its capabilities.

My System: 100 cm dish on Astra 28 with twin LNB, 80 cm dish pointing to Astra 1 / Hotbird feeding a 9/8 switch to Humax iCORD

Hi folks, I'm new here, have a new iCORD. The picture for ITV HD with the above settings was OK, but it was without sound (leastways "Hannibal" last night was without sound). Anyone any ideas why?

My System: fortec star

This may sound a strange question but here goes... If I had a HD sat reciever picked up for example ITV HD could I then watch it on a standard TV or has it got to be HD tv.

I dont mean watch it in HD, I know SD tv's cant show HD. but will the reciever output via the RF in SD as well as output in HD via the hdmi cable? so it will show as standard on a ordinary TV?

thanks

Yes, RF or Scart/RCA outputs will show HD channels from a HD receiver on a normal TV.

My System: Various PCs Humax iCord HD reciever
iCord Help

I wrote out a full guide as I have just spent a couple of days looking up info and trying stuff out trying to get ITV HD to work. However it logged me out whilst I was writing it and so i lost it all. Couldn't be bothered to rewrite it so here is a few hints/tips that should help.

1) The iCord does not come with Eurobird 1 programmed in so firstly go into 'menu-installation-antenna settings-satellite settings', select 'user define 1', rename it and enter these settings:

EuroBird 1 - 11426.00 Horizontal - DVB - 27500 2/3

You'll find it lists it as Eurobird 1 0.0 rather than 28.5E but it'll still work. Now scan for channels.

2) Download the Uniformula software onto your pc from:
_http://www.humaxdigital.com/deutsch/hcsa/download/products/icordhd.asp
if this link doesn't work, go to _www.humax-digital.de and navigate to service-download and select the iCord from the dropdown list.

3) The easiest way to edit your channel list is via a usb memory stick, so if you have one use it, if you don't have one borrow one.

4) Plug it into your iCord and export your channel list via the installation menu. Then plug it into your pc, open uniformula and open the list from the usb pen, it'll be in the root folder named something like hdpvr_ch_list.udf.

5) Instead of creating a new channel locate BBC HD in the list and copy and paste it at the end. Creating it from scratch doesn't seem to work.

6) Edit the extra BBC HD channel with the following:
Channel Name:ITV HD
Service ID 0000
PMT PID 3400
Video PID 3401
Audio PID 3402
PCR PID 3401
Sub PID 8192
Teletext PID 8192
Video " PID FALSE
NB:You will need to click (>>) at the top to be able to alter a lot of these settings
Also make sure these agree:
EuroBird 1 - 11426.00(=)27500 2/3

7) Save the changes, transfer the usb stick back to your iCord and then import the channels in the same way you exported before.

It worked for me, I hope it does for you, if it doesn't make sure your firmware is .13 or later, if it isn't download it from the german site and update your box.

Let me know if this helps anyone.

Hi Tinkerdog: Useful help (and easier than looking at a Portuguese PDF with the same info!!). My only problem: first time I found a picture other than "This service is currently unavailable", I got no sound....(it was showing Hannibal Saturday night). I'd kind of like to watch the Champions League game they are supposed to be showing Tuesday, so if you've any hints what might be wrong I'll appreciate it!

Hi Tinkerdog..... Your detailed info was very helpful and I now have ITV HD. I found that if you try and set the video PID anything other than false the Uniformula program aborted........and as at that time as one had not saved data, you lost it!! I had four attempts before success.Compliments again on your precise details........Punjetas
