Sky Plus in France

Hi,

Help needed ! We are trying to put Sky Plus up, we have the box from England with the card, bought dish in france, have put dish up, with leads and got great signal and strength on the blue bars, but no picture at all, it is on the scart lead so I assume no tuning needed.

Any ideas on how to get a picture ? I am not very technical mind !! Many thanks for any help, Alison

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

Chances are you are pointing at the wrong satellite!
What are you getting for the network ID?

My System: Sky+, DB 7000s, Gemini 4.3 in flash, Var on USB stick. Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Unaohm EP313, Swires Annie 204 Spectrum, Rover ST-4 Spectrum.

The network id is listed under the strength and quality bars, should be 0002. The most common error is to find Astra 19.2 East, which I seem to remember gives 0001, if that is the case, move the dish 9 degrees Eastward and down a fraction.

OK, so you have a network 1d of 0002 and a transport stream of 07d4?

Has this box been disconnected from a satellite dish for a long time?

Also, whereabouts are you in France and what size dish are you using?

My System: 43cm Dish, Sky Plus v2, Thomson DSI4214, FRACARRO PENTA 85cm, Invacom Twin, Moteck SG2100a H-H DiSEqC Motor, TF5000CI, TM-5200D, Sling Media, Rover Discovery ST-4, Rover SDM-1s, 57E to 58W, Tecatel 1.35m fixed on 28e, Pace D5430-N

According the the maps, 80cm should be spot on for 2d signals and would say 60cm for the rest.

Just thinking out allowed

Do a forced update, the software will be out of date. Switch off the digibox at the mains, then whilst someone is holding in the backup button on the digibox, turn it back on at the mains and keep the button pressed until all lights on the box flash, a message will also appear on the screen. This should solve your problem, it will take 15 to 20 minutes.
