My System: TM6800HD+TD110+StabHH90 motor,TM1000D+Orbital 1m Multifeed 16E,23E,28E.DigitAlB movies. A Bigsat BS-S77CX and a Sky Dodgibox.

From the reception maps I have seen, for reception of the Astra 2D transponders, which carry BBC ITV etc, you are talking more like 2.4m rather than 1.2m in your area. Although local knowledge would be more accurate.

To use the Sky+ facility you need a Sky subscription, or pay a £10/month charge for Sky+.

Welcome,

Briefly: Freesat is broadcasted on Astra 2 / Eurobird located at 28e.

Dish size for viewing both satellites is approx 2.4M for your region.

Take a look at dishpointer.com for more info regarding look angles.

Programming can be received via a Sly box or a dedicated freesat receiver.

Hi Tracey! Yes,you can receive Freesat from Sky in Alicante. With a small 80cm dish you should pick up channels such as Sky News, BBC News, and some pay channels if you subscribe. However, if you want BBC 1,2,3,4, Channel 4, Film 4 you will need a dish of 1m80 or 2m40. The dishes point in a southerly direction. I´m sure members living nearby can give you more spot-on information. Chris.

My System: 1.8m Famaval PF Dish, Pace 3100, 2600, 430, freesat Humax HD, Freesat Grundig, 0.8m illusion motor, Dreambox DM7025

you get loads of installers and information if you google "freesat costa blanca" who may be able to help you with specifics for your area,

but generally you need a minimum of a 1.8m dish to get BBCs ITV C4. Even with a 2.4 you will not get certain channels 24/7 - bbc2 being a nice tricky one.

you can go for a smaller dish, but you will not get BBCs ITVs or C4...

most installers will provice and installer the dish with the relevant LNB - invacoms which are generaly accepted to be one of the best ones for the CB
