My System: 1.9m Dish Invacom quad lnb BigSat BS-S 501 xtra Freesat Box
Freesat Spain

Hi, wondered if anyone can help. I live in the South Costa Blanca and some of my neighbours have a Metronic 80cm dish and universal LNB with a MediaPrice free to air sat receiver. They can receive itv and BBC channels no problem. I have installed the same and get the signal from Astra 2 but cannot view the ITV and BBC channels the signal breaks up every 10 to 15 seconds for these channels but German & French channels on this satellite are fine. Any suggestions?

Not sure but a number of erotic ones and news type channels. When the digibox searched for the channels it has registered all the itv and bbc ones which show as having a signal on Astra 2 but won't give a picture. I was surprised that my neighbours could receive on such a small dish but they can. Maybe I am just out of luck and need a larger dish or better LNB and receiver? Thanks

My System: Sky Plus V3 TDS 470n, Pace 2600CI, Thomson Sky HD, Technomate 1000D, Prodelin 1.8m dish + Invacom Quad C120, CM feed, Lacuna/Wolsey V3 meter

No doubt at all you are on the wrong satellite, you have Astra 1 at 19 degrees. You need to move your dish.
Reception of BBC channels from Astra 2d is impossible in your location on this size dish. You can however get some BBC, BBC News and BBC Radio, From Astra 2A south on a 80 cm dish, Perhaps your neighbours are watching a re-broadcast?

My System: 1.8m PF Dish, most sky and freesat recivers, 80cm on Illusion motor and Dreambox DM7025, TDT

in your area, if your neighbours are getting bbc and itv on an 80cm dish then they are getting it from one of the (illegal) rebroadcasters down there.
the rebroadcasters are removing their "mesh" aerials and replacing them with dishes to make people think they are getting the signals directly from the satellite not thier own rebroadcasting tranmitters. you may well find the direction and elevation of your and your neighbours dishes will be different ifyou align yours correctly to astra2/eurobird at 28.2-5 degrees.
you will not get bbc or itv on an 80cm dish - you will more htan likely require a minimum of a 1.4m prime focus dish...

With a Sky card and Sky receiver you should be able to receive the Sky version of FIVE - service, 4, 4, 12422, h, find, yellow button, then to access go to services other channels.

The free "freesat" version of Five is on the same frequency as BBC2 and there only available as per bbc2.

With a well aligned 1.45m dish you should be able to receive BBC1 and ITV1,2,3,4 for some of the day, although not consistant. A bigger dish will help, but even then not all channels will be available all day (especially BBC2,3,4)

If you already have a sky box, and a freesatfromsky card then keep that system as it will allow you to access some stronger alternate signals for ITV1 and C4 (add channels on 12402 and 12480 v). Even then, unless you really want to, keep the sky box and forget freesat - freesat does not have access to a decent FIVE signal, Fiver, Five USA for example.

Suppliers and installers are all over the CB - its a very big area - and you have not mentioned exactly your area. Suffice to say either google something like "freesat costa blacna" or check local press for installers (or if in the torrevieja area check out on of the torre forums torrevieja.com or torrevieja.co.uk)

My System: 1.9 portugese dish with Sky free to view card

I am in the Algorfa area and have a 1.9 dish. I get all the free to air channel's, including TTon4 when in non freesat mode on my Foxsat HD.

I can usually get BBC2 and C5 in the clear from around 1800 until 2230. On Sunday I watch Top Gear & MOTD2.

Not sure about the other 5 channel's like Fiver etc

Hope this helps
