Try the receiver on a neighbours system.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"

Swivel the dish eastward by 10 degrees (ish) and down a touch.

My System: motorised dish and technomate receiver

Astra 1 is at 19 east
Astra 2 is at 28 east.
That is in round figures.
So turn your dish 9 degrees or so east and down a bit as Robbo mentioned. Or if you are confused, to the left if you are behind the dish.

Also, while doing so, have sight of the signal quaility screen on your receiver and monitor a transponder, eg 10773H. When you get good quality, scan it. You should get BBC1 London.

If anything, you start off at south, at work your way eastward, as there is nowt if you point north. The sats are above the equator at approx 22,000 miles.
