B***dy subtitles

Hi all,

okay, writing this through fustration (it dosen't take much) but here is the cause........
Watching Freesat on a Humax hdr pvr and pause live tv to make a brew/powder my nose,
return and commence play to have the subtitles appear. Now you can't disable subtitles during time shift (I didn't enable them) and pressing live and rewinding does not cure the problem.
Please, please, please can some one tell me how to remove them before i remove dish and receiver and buy another toppfield?????
