Death of Freesat

If ITV and channel 4 sign up with Sky, (as they want to do), then this will be the end of freesat.

Freesat never really took off in the way Sky did in the early 90's and if they loose Itv2,3,4 and E4, film4 More4 etc then what is the point of it continuing???

Beware of buying expensive panasonic LCD and freesat receivers as four rubbish bbc channels and an even worse ITV channel is hardly moving forward with the times.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

Not likely to happen, IMHO.

Bit of sabre rattling to try to stir bottoms and get an acceptable way ahead for funding.

Lets hope your right.

There are millions of Brits here in southern spain that rely on UK channels, and dont have a sky sub.

maybe one day we will have television without frontiers as promised by the EU years ago!!!

My System: Humax HD Freesat Gibertini 150 cm dish for Astra 2D. Technomate TM-1500 CI+ viewing Astra 2, Astra 1 and Hotbird Sky receiver for FTV channels.

Freesat is doing quite well, considering the current climate. Don't forget they said Freeview would be a flop years ago, it is now the biggest digital platform in the UK.

Those who spread these rumours, want to kill off the competition, now who could that be?

There is room for both, $ky (if you want to pay) and Freeview or Freesat for those who want the free channels.

What does suprise me is, that $ky never took up the challenge of Freeview with Freesat from $ky.
They could have added some more channels such as Virgin 1 and Dave and taken viewers (and potential $ky subscribers) away from DTT.

If you look at the first post you will see that ITV1 is not affected by these proposals.

Its all gone very quiet on this, and with a new MD to be appointed in the near future its anyones guess as if to this will be proceeded.

Analoguesat's message to the world
Analogue forever!

My System: TM 5200 USB

I have noted a recent signal strength reduction from TTon4 transponder.

Significant?
