Humax Connectivity to DVD

I am struggling to connect my DVD player through the Humax freesat to my TV.

I have one HDMI, plastered into the wall from my TV to my Humax Freesat. The HDMI cable was originally connected to my DVD player. At present I have connected the DVD player to the Humax with scart, seperate AV cables (red, white and yellow) and finally I purchased a HDMI splitter.

When I press the DVD button on the Humax remote control nothing happens and I am unable to view a DVD at present.

None of the cable configurations appear to work.

The question is....am I able to play a DVD and send the signal through the Humax to watch it on my TV?

Any help as usual very welcome....Thanks

My System: Humax Freesat Foxsat HDR 320 GB Toshiba 42" 1080p TV Yamaha RX-V565 Surround Sound Amp Sony PS3

You could play a film through a computer and connect the humax from the comp with an ethernet cable. Haven't tried it but I'm sure I read it in the instructions.

If that doesn't work have you thought about buying a yamaha AV amp rxv 565. One hdmi cable from that to the telly. Everything else gets plugged into the yamaha.

Works great. Even upscales up to 1080p from any video signal.

The downside is it costs nearly £400. Sorry to inform you.
