Shortage of Freesat SD Boxes

Bought my Bush BFSAT02SD receiver from Argos the other day and after countless trips up and down the ladder finally got the setup right.

imho it's a cracking little SD FTA box for the money but when I looked to buy another the supply had completely dried up when I tried the stores listed on Freesats website!

What a shambles. From what I can gather Thompson manufacture them and then they are branded (Bush, Grundig etc). I'm thinking of buying a second hand Sky box but being new to satellite wondered how easy they are to tune in to all the Freesat channels?

Thanks,

Sid

All existing Freesat channels are on the Sky epg so no manual tuning is required.

Things may change in the future as the platfoms diverge, and manual tuning on the Sky boxes is rather clunky.

My System: Triax 1.1m and Orbital 80cm Motorised Dishes. Various fixed Dishes. Eclectic selection of Digital and Analogue Receivers. Complex switching and distribution that SWMBO cannot fathom. Nor me.

I have a Foxsat HD, not a Bush/Alba/Goodmans SD box, but is it right that the "02" version that you've got has only one SCART socket, unlike the "01" version which had two?

Yes, that's correct but I just plug my telly into my VCR and my VCR into the single scart socket on the 02 box. My DVD also plugs into my telly so not a problem for me.
