My System: Fortec Passion +HD Panasonic LCD
Fortec dish and a Humax pvr

I have posted this query in the fortec passion+ forum and got no response so I thought I would give a try here my question Is it possible to use the Fortec dish with a humax HDR and will the LNB have to be re aligned due to it no longer being connected to the Passion+ I ask this as my hummy 9200 is playing up (due to age) and the latest model using freesat leads me to ask the question out of interest....

My System: Zone1, DSI8215 SkyHD, Thomson DSI4214, TF5000CI, Dreambox DM800 HD PVR - Nab BH0.12, TM-5200D, Gibertini 104cm, SNH-031, 36v Actuator, Vbox-II, 42°E to 30°W, Sling Media, Televes H45 Digital Processing Analyser, Satlook Micro+G2 NIT, Rover SDM 1s

As long as the dish is aligned correctly to the 28e slot, all will be ok.

What were you using the dish for previously?.

If it works ok for freesat then no need to adjust. For a fixed dish on 28e, as a rough guide the LNb should be around 7 to 8 O'Clock depending on type and manufacture.

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Unless of course it is the Fortecstar LNB mentioned in this thread, then the skew will appear to be way off for Astra 28.2.

Yep, depending on LNB type and manufacture some MTi LNB's in addition to the fortec have their LNB socket at a peculiar angle for a zero skew setting. Icecrypt also from a brief look at the link

I still use it to power my fortec passion+which allegedly is ment to record through a usb hd but Ive never got it to record so I just used my trusty Humax to record via freeview but I have had one or two gremlins in the old hummy and when it finally pops this mortal coil I was thinking of going for their freesat hd recorder hence the question, and yes it is one of their odd lnbs and thanks to this site I was able to save myself some grief regarding the skew needed to get it working properly Thanks for reply by the way
