Hi,

The normal procedure for locating a fault would be to start at the dish and work your way outwards towards the properties.

Your first task would be to draw up a system diagram of the various components, so that you understand how it is put together, and what to expect at the outputs of any intermediate stages.

Maybe using optic fibre would be an alternative, but much easier to maintain solution.

Without knowing what exactly the full system consists of, problem diagonisis is impossible.

Stabs in the dark, are no good. A logical approach needs to be taken.

If you want to play it the haphazard way, change the amps and see if it works, doubt it though.

My System: Various digiboxes, broken Nokia 9800S, numerous analogue boxes. My lovely little lappy, HP Omnibook 6100

Some things we could do with knowing-

Where in Spain you are
Size & make of satellite dish
Make & model of LNB
Type of distribution system (probably a multiswitch)
What you mean by in-line amplifier
The area over which the signals are fed

Some photographs would undoubtedly help us here.

As the o/p has experienced rain, I would suggest he lives 'mainly' on the plain.

Many systems over there aren't installed with wet/water and bad weather in mind. The fault could be anything, anywhere within the system. We await more details.
