FTA using virgin set top box and sky dish?

Hi,

I had a search for using a virgin set top box wired up to a sky dish to get FTA but found no results..

Would this be possible? as i have a spare virgin box doing nothing (now moved to sky+) if not is this virgin box good for any thing else?

Cheers....

Absolutely Impossible ...cable and satellite use totally different tuning spectrums ...and tuners ..

As to what to do with your spare cable box ...
Doorstop springs to mind
..Paperweight ..
..or you could just return it to RB ..
..after all he technically does own it ..

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

Nope, as it is a cable box and not compatible with satellite signals or terrestrial UHF signals.

You can probably use it to prop the garden shed door open.

PS. Any type of cable discussion is prohibited on the forum, so will close this thread.

Edit. PPS. Must type faster.
