Sats received far East

Just out of interest, any idea what would be the furthest satellites received with a 90cm in the UK assuming you have the line of sight of course. I can pull in up to 53E and was looking further ie. 57 & 68.5 (some beams available ref: lyngsat). This El from my latt/long is somewhat in the region of 10+ ° , very low in the sky. Interested to hear comments

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

68E with 72E just about possible in exceptionally good locations in the east.

Even 68E is pushing it due to the very low elevation

57E is not there is it?

It seems that my motor only goes to 60east and wants to revert back to zero, must be the hardware limits. Reckon I had a chance as I have hardly nothing in the line of sight

57E should be visible with 12551 V 9404 3/4 at reasonable signal strength in UK / NW Europe. IVe never bothered haviing a look for that one as 53E is only just hovering above a hill here.

Yes, I have sent motor to 57E and 12551V 9404 3/4 is showing on the sat Tp list but I have no lock or even any signal at all on any of the Tp from that sat...... maybe I have an obstruction after all OR my TD88 is not enough to pull in... I would of thought it was. Chers

My System: Smart lnb, 1m Gibby dish, Stab motor, TM5200D receiver, 57east to 61west. DTT from Sudbury. Virgin Media broadband.

hi satelliteman

That transponder on 57east is very strong here in suffolk with a 1m gibby dish. I have a Stab motor and it is about the end of it's movement to catch that satellite.
I've been given a dark motor to play with, larger movement east and west. I'll have the get the dish up about 1m higher to miss trees and houses. I will then try for 6 & 68 east when I get the time and inclination.
parky
PS I find that setting my Stab motor to 57.5east gives me the best strength and quality readings for the satellite at 57east.

Interesting info, and interested to see the results regarding reception on 68 east when you get a chance.

My location is the Midlands and have only a 88cm dish.... this may be enough not to receive that beam/Tp.

hi satelliteman
I carried out a check. I find that the strength and quality of 12551V on 57east is the same as 12662V, 30000 on 53 east. I would have thought that if you can get that transponder on 53east you might be able to pick something up from 57east as long as you have clear line of sight.
I had a look at the Moteck specs and you should get an azimuth angle from 75east to 75west from that motor.
Regretfully there will be a delay in changeing my motor and lifting my dish. I'm spending time, during the day, looking after one of my daughter's who has just had a tumour removed from her brain. Perhaps, after the clocks change, the evenings will be lighter and I can then get on with the job.
