68.5 C-band in Hungary?

Hi all
I'll be moving to Hungary in a few months and need to know what setup I need to receive the DSTV (multichoice Africa) signal there.

I have a 1.8m dish with suitable decoder, but could upgrade to a 2.4m before I get there if that is what it takes.

The area I will be moving to is flat so line of sight should be no problem (18 deg on horizon)

Is there anybody else in Hungary/Austria who are able to receive this signal?

thanks

Hello,

Members in Germany and Austria say 68.5E has become weaker. I don't know if this is also the case for Hungary. I recommend taking a look at the following boards.

Hungarian board

German board with members also from Austria

Slovenian board

Russian board with some members from Hungary

An excellent slovakian DXer site with many details

A romanian sat board also with members from Hungary. Not few people there from Asia, Africa and probably Europe do receive 68.5E C-Band

Last but not least, the very informative polish board that might also give you some hint.

Would be great to get feedback from you.

My System: 1,25 Fibostop Jäger Smr 1224 Dual Axsis Echostar Dvr 7000 Monterey 140 Tagra 2,20 M Fullsize Dish Echostar 2,40m Mesch for cband!

Hy,with my 2,40 m mesh dish pointed,on 68,5e i can reveive 141 Channels,not all transponders,here,but the most,for all,i recomended a 3,1 meter mesh dish,but the are all out of stock,in this size,here in europe,only some dealers has some 3,60 m left!
3816 20500 3/4,is the strongest multichioce transponde, all others are weaker 3863 i have signal ,on 3836 ,i got no signal, also on ary worl digital package, there is no signal, with my 2,40 mesh at the moment, the reason is,other channels, using nearly the same freqency,on the other polarisation, like nhk,for example, only the simbolrate is higher !

Confirmed - With a 3.7m solid dish in London, nothing is available from a standard receiver, however there are blips on the spectrum analyser which suggest a dish of 5m is now required for the vertical polarisation channels.

The beam has most likely been moved East to allow viewers in India and the subcontinent a better reception.

should i install this basket,on my antenna,or not?
better signal?
it is from my kti 1,.95 mesh, that i want to point to 55 west, when i got signal, and the 2500m high maintain ist not in the way ,we will see, maybe,i have to modifeized the basket,a little bit,to put on on 2,40 mesh from echostar, but iam noot sure,is this basket needed or not,in thailand i see alot of mesh with the basket, for lnb protection from the monsun rain, but, here i cant test, the signal, coz it was so strong in south east asia, nothing for dxing..in cband, only kuband was intresting,on the philphine channels with 1,80 m dish!

hello!
when you can install solid dishes, then you buy that one,but there are a lot of quality diferents,
when you have strong winds in hungary buy a mesh dish, price is a little bit lower, irte is out of priduction,of the 2,40m segment dish, price very high in germany 700€!
and more, for cband lnb,buy one with 13 kelvin,i import the new gardiner from brasil with 12 celvin!
3.10 m mesh would be the best solution, here,in our gegrpahical area, then you will reveive all transponders!.with 2,40 m,nearly 18 transponders, are missing no signal for example 3836 or the ary digital package, this my results!
