West Indies

Hi,

Not sure if the is the right place, but here goes...

I have relatives in the west indies who I'm visting this summer and just wanted to know what I can pick up there.

They are 13 14'N 61 18'W (approx) they have a 2-3m motorised dish already. ( not sure about the actual set-up though would have been some time back 10 years my guess)

Questions:

Are they're any worthwhile DVB-S broadcasts in that area (I have a dreambox I was thinking of taking)

Is it possible to get any UK/European signals? (I know the earth is round!)

Have CAMs (matrix and Dreambox) so are there any open that I would need updates for.

Thanks

Ok

So your due south satellite will probably be Amazonas at 61 West. Click here to see satellites within your Western arc ie. the Americas and here for satellites in your Eastern arc the Atlantic. Generally you can see 60 Degrees East and 60 degrees West of your due South satellite. However I have no idea what footprints each satellite has, you will have to check those out yourself, but in a word no European/UK signals, they will be below your horizon.

My System: Kabel BW

You could try to ask the experts from North and Central America here:

There is also a mexican sat board:

Good luck.
