Hello, I posed this on another board, and thought Id post it here too since I know the German beam on 3A can be akward to receive in parts of the UK. Anyway, I was rescaning though some satellites a few days ago and noticed I was getting some extra channels on 23.5e and it turns out they are from 3A. The transponders are - 12685 V 27500 3/4, 12725 V 27500 3/4, 12525 V 27500 3/4. I was getting picture breakup on CT 24, same for the Eins channels (Eins festival/Eins plus etc..) I'm using a 80cm dish, with a Inverto twin 0.3db lnb and I am located in the centre of Northern Ireland (MidUlster area). Here is some screengrabs, and two videos I took on my digital camera last night for the cynics .Ste

My System: Sky+ 60cm Dish Octagon SF818 PVR | I am trying to get the 12525 V 27500 with my 60cm (I am west of london) - could you just tell me how best to try to get that with this dish before I buy 1.2m one - I would like to give it a go and I am prepared to get a TV and the Receiver up on the roof to catch that Transponder - I guess this is the only way to be sure, right? I also presume that there is no device that tells you what satellite you are pointing at. any box standard meter just tells you the strenght of what you are pointing at but will not tell you the name of it, right?

Blog Entries: 1 My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S ![]() The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue | CSM - this thread is for reception of 3A in Northern Ireland - please dont wander off from the thread where you have already been gettingadvice on what you need to do at your location as it just leads to duplication of effort. Odd things happen in extreme fringe reception. sg manasged a few channelks on an 80 cm dish - (there was probably some freak reception for a few days) but a few miles doewn the road tomthebomb needs a 90cm for occasional reception. All our advice is guesswork based on experience and the theoretical coverage areas. The only way to find out whats possible at your location it is to get some dishes up on the roof of your building and try it. In the unlikely eveny you get 24/7 reception on an 80cm dish we will be very pleased for you and we will all learn something new ![]() BTW - professional alignment meteres tell you which satellite you are aligned onto, but the most practical way to do it at hobby level is just to tune a satellite receiver in and look at what channels you have found!
