Dish size for.... Badr6 in the uk & europe

Now that the dust has settled (hopefully) over these first BADR6 TP/ Channel changes, we're seeing really dead TPs from that bird - below noise - usually you'd expect to see a below lock / but above background noise signal - but there is almost nothing and worse than 7w H's.

So .. has anyone got a lock in the UK yet on a big dish on BADR6... ?

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

Ive seen reports that 1.5m is required in Bavaria. No signal on a 1.2m elsewhere in Germany (no exact location given)

Thanks RD ....

...How does BADR6 compare with 7w Hs on that dish there?

We are about 100 miles further away from the footprint so it still could still be 2.4m here considering how it can drop off so fast going north like Nilesat.

Here's how the situation looks like in Italy:
_http://www.digital-forum.it/showthread.php?t=59849

Western Europe is extremely priviledged for Badr 6. I have not finished in doing research what's going on in Eastern Europe but can tell you that Badr 6 is very weak even in Northern Greece.

Looks like 11823v is yet another tp that's going over to badr6 but is still on its old tp and too strong for BADR6 only ... until it's switched off.

A member on DS has 11727h & 11804h as the stronger BADR6 tps on a 1.2m near Heathrow and our first measurements agree.

The strongest BADR6 tps here (mid UK) are:

11727h 30%
11747v 25%
11804h 30%
11823v n/a....
11843h 25%..
11862v 30%
11900v 26%.. new

For reference:
12183h was at 76% (max recorded peak 85%) 11919h was about 63% last evening test. All badr6 tps peak values only and are no lock on a 1.1m triax x tms 1000 x silvercrest (lidl) .2 lnbf x 30mt decent copper/ copper 100 cable...mid UK location - quite busy 26e line of sight ...trees/ roofs chimneys/ aerials etc.
39- 40% is usually lock level on the tms- far too busy to try it on other dishes/lnbs or even tweaking at moment and haven't tried for the C band yet either- again far too busy.

Judging by those peak values it might just be a do-er without going 8m.

50.3N and only 1.20m for Badr 6 !!

I really wonder if there is any other region on the same latitude that gets it so easily. Probably in the Eastern Ukraine but i haven't seen any reports yet from there.

Thanks for your very useful report pride21.

My System: 1.2M Channel Master, C120 Invacom 0.3 LNB & Feedhorn, with Humax HDCI2000. 68.5E - 61W

Thats really good going getting signal from BADR 6 on just a 1.2m dish, and in windy and rainy conditions! I get absolutely nothing with same size dish in west yorkshire, regardless of weather conditions!
