setups in scotland

out of interest is there anyone from scoand on here and if so what setups have you got and what can you receive?

I currently have a technomate motorised system with a stab motor and a 90cm i can pull in something on most satellites from 42east to 30w (never tried any further though)

im looking to upgrade the dish size for badr 4 26 ast and to get a better signal on 1w digi tv for spl games

footprint for badr 4 say around 1.2 meter just wondering if anyones picking it up with something slightly smaller

any info is much appreciated

I've got an old 90cm mesh dish from the analogue days and it just about brings in Badr 4. The MBC channels are a bit flakey even in good weather and the other channels have very little rain fade margin. A bigger dish would certainly help on this sat. I find 90cm perfectly adequate for DigiTV at 1W. I've watched many a game when it's been pouring down outside with no picture breakup.

The range of sats you are getting is OK, maybe try to get 45E if you have line of sight. I get something from just about every location in that range with the exception of 4W, 7W, 11W & 14W - not a chance at this location/dish size.

My System: Technomate 6900 hd super, Manhattan XT-CM, motorised 90cm dish, cas3, diablo light,

im in edinburgh, have a manhattan xt-cm, motorised 90cm dish. can get from 9e-42e because of the view south from the building, bought t&K bnrackets to extend the dish out the way from the house, but it has been work in progress for about 6 months. can pick up the same as you, if you read the sat charts in what satellite, they should give you a rough guide to dish size.

My System: Channel Master 1.2m motorised, V Box, Technomate 1500ci.

I normally do OK with 1W, but I have a 1.2m dish and the NE corner of Scotland (and East Anglia) gets the best of the 1W footprint in the UK. I think I had a look at badr4 last Saturday for the Scotland - Norway match but I wasn't very impressed video quality wise so moved to Polsat. The video quality and the Scotland team performance were about on a par; I just had to get that in first!

There are also the various Sport1 and Sport2 channels on 1W which sometimes have SPL games - although I suspect they may be gone soon. These and Polsat on 13E are what I normally use.

My System: andrews dish - jaeger 1224 motor, vantage x221tsci, skystar 2, diablo v2.3, cyfra+

if you want to receive 26e up in scotland i would say go for the 1.2m dish or even 1.5m if you can get away with that size

1west should be ok on 90cm dish its only the nordic beam channels that are weaker

i have currently a fixed dish on 1west further south than you and get channels ok but i could do with the dish being larger
