The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

If its the Big TV package on 91.5E then yes you will need an MPEG4 receiver - your MPEG2 receiver wont give you anything.

ALL the channels are also scrambled:

maybe the channels use the same standart, then the use in china?
i forgot the name, you find more infos on weekpedia lexicon, but, they use other standart and have there own stbs..
like adrresed system, simular to power view i think!

yes here,we have also holiday!

2 years ago,the same happens on thaicom, mtv thailand,in kuband was so strong, that 2,40m fullsize dish, was enough to get signal,i dont understand this, hotbrid in thailand viaversa, needs 5meter or more!
now mtv thailand has switched of
looks like the asian satellites has more power then the european pendants!
or its only a questions,of how to set the spread of the beam (focus)
i have to other explanation for this rar phenomenon!

in winter, when its cold, then signal is much better then in summer time, espasely in cband!
i see it ever day on 68,5e

Hey Paolo, don't drive me mad guy

Lyngsat shows that there are 3 Ku Beams active on Measat 3 but far more than 6 Transponders. Do you get the South Asia frequencies or maybe also Malaysia or Indonesia ?

Unbelievable how these Asian Beams spill over to Eastern Europe

Hello. My indian friend has BIG TV receiver and subscription card. According to Lyngsat, we can't get it in our area, but also, according to lyngsat, DX Bozoth receives it, and as far as I know, he lives in Czech Republic. It's interesting, which size dish he uses to receive it?

DX Bozóth is located in Eastern Hungary and using 3.70m and 4.60m. I am not sure with which dish he receives them.

Hi BombedOne

Currently on page 2, here in fringe reception is a thread called INSAT 3A/4B 93,5e and there is skystar's post (who is said to be a friend of DX Bozoth's) no. 37 (page 2) you can download a rar file about dx bozoth.
DX Bozoth is from eastern Hungary, not far from Roman David over the border in Slovakia. DX Bozoth can reach 96e? I think they say he has a 3.7m Andrew dish. Different dish make, but same size as Roman David's.

I read somewhere there are now 6 newly launched fully blown satellite digital tv platforms in India, each with hundreds of channels including HD channels. So you are well positioned to enjoy all 6 of them for the price of ONE European package, BUT one european package consists of 100 channels, whereas you can get 1,000 or more from India !!!

Hi,

What make is his 4.6m dish. That's quite an uncommon size, I think.

Thanks everyone for explanation, especially Divibi

I have receiver and card for BIG SKY package at hands, tried to get the measat by using 1.5m primefocus, but no luck so far. After arrival of invacom LNB's I'll re-try this procedure using them and bigger (2.4m) dish.

Hi,
Do you intend to be using invacom feedhorns together with those invacom LNBs you ordered? It's surely the best solution, as Mr Schumacher in Brazil uses this combination for his extreme DX-ing.

Big tv Measat 3 South Asia Beam footprint map is possibly too pessimistic, considering reports of its reception coming from central europe. That beam's 46 dBW contour ends on the eastern border of Turkmenistan. But since the real world footprint seems to be stronger than the official footprint map indicates towards Europe and the offical map's north western edge spikes and protrudes directly toward Georgia- I would assume that the 46 dBW contour could more favourably end in western Turkmenistan touching the Caspian Sea, which your country also borders on the other side. And now, the distance from you to the 46 dBW contour is the same as the distance from you to the 46 dBW contour of "DIGI TV" package on Spot 3 of Intelsat 10-02 at 1*W, which ends in Crimea, Ukraine. Digi tv is number one or two most popular hacked package, especially in continental europe, but there are also FTA Romanian channels on the same spot 3. If you or other folks in Georgia can pick it up, I would bet the same equipment can get you BIG TV on the other side of the satellite arc so to speak.
But I guess Measat 3 is strong going westwards in order to reach ARABIA where a lot of Indian people live and maybe even non-Indian people like Bollywood films, so there will be a market for this package

yes, will use with invacom feedhorns. Also I ordered feedhorn with adjustable F/D.

regarding out of footprint reception, I had no possibility to receive 1W, since there's building blocking that side of horizon from my home. But I have received the following beams:

http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/eam22_s1.html - perfect reception using 1m offset dish with cheap LNB.

http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/intel4_neasia.html - unstable reception using 1.2m offset dish with cheap LNB.

Hi,
Good man! You are bound to receive Big Tv, then.
Thanks for sharing your reception results on AM22 and Intel4.

I'll try my best, but I don't have any spectrum analyzer. So I think I should install polar mount first, set-up and calibrate it well, then aim to 90E, and try to nudge dish in small steps and scan and scan again

snow actually melted now, but there's terrible wind in this period of year, going to roof is quite dangerous.

I spent whole weekend on support pole manufacturing. I'm making it really strong one - will hold much much larger dishes (to be honest, as OSCE mission is closing down here, they will be selling all their equipment at auction by end of the march, and I've spotted couple of ~3m fiberglass dishes on their office, maybe I'll get one for low price )
