92.2 east

thanks,

that dish is being used and not easy to move.

in my quest for hbo i have found hbo asia is the closest to hbo usa.
progrraming is in english and not far behind the usa at all.
transformers and nancy drew are some of the newer movies.
i thought i could get this on c band from asia. but it is not on c band any more.
the sling test we made were not good at all.
down load at 1.4 meg and the picture was stop action at times.
digizon box looks like the best.
is there amy asia birds with HBO that we can pick up here with a 2 meter dish??
c band or ku band.
being 45 meters above the sea and a clear shot to almost anything.
thanks to all

Although we have left the initial thread Chinasat 9 i will try to answer the question where HBO channels can be found:

Theoretically you should have the chance to get it either from 58W/4000V or 76.5E/3960H. Latter carries the Asia versions BUT both are just for feeding issues and thus transmitting in encrypted Digicipher 2. I really doubt that anybody has access to such receivers which might be addressable as well.

92.2E by the way reaches Napoli with 0.6° elevation. Nobody knows if signal quality would be sufficient.

OT: Where is your 4m pointed to ? Astra 2D or any other interesting hard to catch Beam ?

I demand: Pay-TV subscriptions worldwide available - with any receiver - just like print magazines !

4 meter dish

hi,
its pointing to astra 28 degrees.
its hard to move and being were it is i could not get a shot that
low.
the hbo asia are the same shows in all asia.
they seem to be all the same and i called them and they said the that
some hbo is subtitled in manderin.
so it subtiteling is turned on everywere but phillipines.
the shows are 2 or 3 weeks behind the usa.
compaired to AFN that is 6 months behind the USA its not bad.
hbo was available on c band and reached here using a 1.5 meter dish and digicipher 2 was doable i would be a happy
digizon streaming is my option.
well that all for now

Suppose you're not interested in HBO Hungary at 9E/12034V. Lyngsat shows that original sound is broadcasted.

Another OT question: Do you get Astra 2D on your 4m dish ?

no astra 2 d

hi, i didn't see this sorry
the 4 meter dish will not receive astra 2d.
we have the best lnb and a prime focus.
we can get itv because they have a amp problem and went to another transponder were itv comes in no problem.
now i am trying to see if HBO can be received here in telstar 10.
this service is on c band and reaches us here.
HBO asia is 10 days behind the usa and is not available in europe.
and this is a down link service.
can not find any information the digicipher 2 recdeiver they are using.

In general you will need a 3.0 Degree elevation above the horizon for reasonable levels of reception.

Below this and you will find that the signal will degrade quickly and willgenerally be unstable dependent upon the ground noise at your location and also that of any obstuctions in line of sight to the satellite that you wish to recieve.

In summer periods the level of signal fading will be more pronouced due to increase in noise levels both from the ground and atmospheric conditions

Kind regards
