I should think you can get spot 3 quite easily with a 80cm dish, maybe less, according to the map:

My System: Passion HD, Nova HD S2, 85cm Mesh Dish, Fortec Star Diseqc Motor, Diablo CAM, Sky+ HD, Selfsat H10D2, Hauppauge HD PVR

You have to take into account the fact that the spot 3 TPs are in half transponder mode. The available power to a TP (e.g. 311) is split between 2 x 36Mhz TPs 12607 and 12643. This effectively knocks roughly 4dBW off the advertised EIRP for the footprint.

The only solution would be a bigger dish (80cm min). I have an 85cm here in Glasgow and get comfortable rain fade margin on DigiTV spot 3 channels.

Ah, but don't forget the Penta's give you a little more than an average 80cm

Intelsat 10-02 is at 1.0W and Thor 3/5 are at 0.8W. You should be able to get Intelsat and Thor 5 at the same time without moving your dish. Align to 1.0W as this is the weaker sat and with an 80cm dish the 0.2 degrees out for Thor 5 will make no noticeable difference. Assuming your elevation is correct and you still can't get Intelsat spot 3 with your 80 cm then there is some other factor at play. Has the dish been warped due to manual adjustment ? The LNB may be performing poorly in the FSS range 12500 - 12750.

My System: Dreambox 7020si, Technomate TM600, Technomate TM9100 Fracarro Penta 85 Dish, Televes 0.6dB Quad lnb, TM SG2200 motor. 60cm Channel Master BSB dish on 28e, Mti Blueline 0.2db Twin Lnb. Rover ST-4 Meter Cyfra+ Subscription

You must have a problem with your setup. I used to be able to get DigiTV on my old 80cm Global orbit dish with no problems at all in the Midlands

Try putting the dish on 1w and adjusting the Skew on the lnb and messing with the elevation of the dish, failing all that you may have a warped dish or an iffy lnb
