Sirius 5e - Nordic Transponders???

I am curious as to whether folk here can receive signals from the BSS/FSS Nordic beams of the 4.8e satellite. If so, which transponders?

I'm planning to fine-tune my set up and it would be helpful to use this as a test and compare.

@Robbo (who is near me), your results on the 1m Orbital in particular and the TD 110 (if they are available) would be very helpful.

My System: Passion HD, Nova HD S2, 85cm Mesh Dish, Fortec Star Diseqc Motor, Diablo CAM, Sky+ HD, Selfsat H10D2, Hauppauge HD PVR

With my 85cm dish in Glasgow I can get all of the Nordic beams in good weather. Some are stronger than others, here is a list of signal quality readings from my Passion HD taken today (dry but partly cloudy).

11727 H - 64%
11785 V - 51%
11804 H - 54%
11823 V - 52%
11843 H - 55%
11862 V - 54%
11881 H - 54%
11900 V - 54%
11919 H - 55%
11938 V - 54%
11958 H - 55%
11977 V - 55%
11996 H - 55%
12015 V - 55%
12034 H - 56%
12054 V - 51%
12092 V - 52%
12399 V - 50%
12437 V - 53%
12456 H - 60%
12476 V - 62%

The Passion needs 50% quality to reliably lock a signal so as you can imagine most of these have no rain fade margin.

My System: Fortec Star FS-4200, Comag SL30/12, Triax TD110 dish, Jaeger99 motor, AzureWave AD-SP400 PCI card (Twinhan thing)

Ive just had a look at 5e too In Southampton on my TD110 and the Nordics seem to be about 58-59% Level, 98% quality on ALT-DVB (Mantis DVBS2 card). I havent double checked every Nordic freq, just picked a couple off of Lyngsat that are listed as Nordic and not Europe beams.

Weather currently overcast, dish probably isn't perfectly aligned either!

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

I can just get the Nordic beams on one of my battered 80cm dishes in good weather - the first hint of rain and the signal disappears (didnt see much of them during the last year!)

Ive just swapped that old dish for my 85 cm Penta so Im expecting a better performance once I get it fully tweaked and the hedge trimmed back a bit.

(Ive also mounted the pole correctly so it doesnt swing around in high winds which should help a bit!)

Its only roughly aligned at the moment as I had to go out this afternoon. If the weather is ok next weekend I'll have a go at tweaking it up a bit.

They lost the bird bath a long time ago - its been propped up under the hedge blocking up a gap for a while!

My System: Sky; Raven 90 multi-LNB 1W, 7E, 9E, 13E 16E, 19E; 1m Orbital dish on Moteck SG2100 motor; Technomate 1500, Phoenix Apollo and Kathrein (analogue) etc etc Receivers

Thanks all for responses; rather surprisingly, I have always been able to get only about three of the Nordic transponders (12456 and a couple of others); quite baffling considering my results on other satellites in the arc westerly from 5e right from 1w - 30w including Nilesat! However, I can't get further east than 5e due to obstruction; maybe that has something to do with it or is the footprint of the Nordic TPs weaker down here in the south?

Unfortunately the officialy published footprint doesn't even include most of the UK. But at your location I would expect the signal to be better than at mine, particularly as you have a 1M dish Vs my 85cm. Is it possible that your arc is off slightly resulting in the wrong elevation when the dish is at 5.0E ?

Ah ---- I should say, my motorised set-up has the one small flaw; the mast is makeshift and probably not 100% plumb vertical. Nevertheless, I get very very good results on all satellites within line of sight (including Thor Nordic and Nilesat Vs and some Hs occasionally) - so the tracking seems reasonable!
