Using Fortec 240 cm (Invacom LNB) dish I'm getting quite strong signal on 11013 H, 11054 H and 11096 H (DM800: 12dB). 11681 H is weaker (DM800: 8dB). Usually nothing at all on 11604 H, although I managed to lock the signal in very specific weather conditions. I get about the same results with IRTE 180cm (MTI LNB).

The good thing is that you can get those 11604 H Orbit channels from 8°W.

cheers john896....i currently have my 1.8 on 26e but only using a standard lnb due to the c120 being on the 2.4 and i dont want to move it as its taken a while to get the best signal off 7west.....its pulling the mbc chanels in brill with 80% quality in the afternoons...i would like to move the 2.4m here if their is decent reception?.....looking at the footprints for eurobird 2 we should easily get it with a 2.4

And even more so on 11096 H (Showsports 1,2) and 11681 H (Showsports 4).
Does anybody know if an official Showtime Viewing Card for 7 West, would open
these channels on 25.5East they both use Irdeto2.Thanks

Rumours say Orbit will leave 8W in the next few weeks. It was a post on the DS forum, and we have asked the original poster for the source of his info although he hasnt replied yet.

It won't work. They use different Irdeto cards.

OrbitShowtime 25,5°E = 0668
OrbitShowtime+ADD 7°W = 0604

Afraid of the 8°W Orbit switch-off, I pointed my 2,4m Fortecstar dish to 25,5°E again today. After a few hours, I have finally managed to pull in stable signal from all Orbit transponders, including 11604H. The key to receiving 11604H was blocking the Astra2/EB1 signal as you can see in the attached photo.

Could it really have been 11604 V at 28,5°E blocking the signal? This TP seems to be active since October 2008 which would explain why I could receive Orbit's 11604H just fine before then (if I remember correctly).

Anyway, the signal levels are now as follows (15:45 CET, DM800, Invacom 0,3 LNB, 50m long coax cable, 1 diseqc switch):

11013 H: 10,0 dB
11054 H: 9,9 dB
11096 H: 9,8 dB
11604 H: 6,7 dB
11681 H: 8,1 dB

My System: None at the moment

You could be unlucky in that the sidelobe pattern for the Fortecstar 2.4m that the first side lobe comes in at 3° from mainlobe which would explain the interference you get from 11604V.

Have you checked your dish is perfectly straight with strings?

I think you're right. The poor dish assembly is probably causing this. I pretty much doubt the dish is perfectly straight but I'm afraid that trying to fix that would make things even worse. Might have no choice when Badr 5 and Nilesat 201 arrive, though
