My System: C and Ku
Sabc international in uk and europe

Can members kindly advise me what reception is like of the above transmission on 12722V SR 26657.The transmission is on PAS 7/10 68.5 EAST.I understand this satellite is very low on the horizon, about 5 degrees in the UK and a bit more in EUROPE.Any feedback will be greatly appreciated.

My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

Hardly anyone in western Europe bothers with 68E - is too close to the horizon for many folk.

Hello!
the signal on this transponder is very strong here!
i would say also 60 cm is enough!

i have declination of only 12.5 degree, the last satellite in the east i can receive, then the mauntain comes, and blocks every thing!
the old sabc channels, swtiched off 2 years ago, because nagravision was hacked!

to check,on your location,is there a free view to the satellite you want to receive,i found a real great site on _dishpointer.com

google earth and the nesersary browser plug in must be installed!
you can create a high profil!
just enter your streetname, and the place where you leave in the above line, select the satellite, mark it in the corner under the earth sign, then you can zoom in and out in all direction,
you see how high the mauntain is,the distance, from it!
this programm does not affect tres or houses!!
very nice to play withit!
with this programm you can find on what places is it posible to receive the satellite,i callculate, that i have to move from 800 m to 1500 m sealevel and found one little place, with this programm, where it would be posible to receive more eastern satellites like thaicom!
works worldwide,in the beginning it needs a lot of time to adjust!
and not all photographics are in a good quality depent on the location!

In the UK there are varying signals, not only down to the low angle, but another broadcast, same frequency, but on the opposite polarity, which is not truly 90 degrees apart.

There is a very fine line between "hobby" and "mental illness"
