If you live outside the reception footprint of a satellite and would like to, or can already receive services, post your questions or information here.

Question : japanese and Korean satellites reception limits

I'd like to know how far people have been able get Japanese (BS and SkyPerfectv!) and Korean satellites from their intended footprint. East of Russia ? North Australia ? 110 to 162° East

Thanks for any people in the area interested in these questions.

A very interesting question

Starting with Eastern Russia you could ask for example IVV or Lexx05 at http://www.sat-digest.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4151 from Chabarovsk and Vladivostok. Both have large and motorized dishes for C+Ku Band reception as i see in their signatures and photos. By the way worth for everybody to have a look at

For Australia a good location to ask is http://tv.groups.yahoo.com/group/Apsattv/ . I have seen people there writing also from Thailand, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea.

If you find something please let us know. These beams seem to be very narrow so don't hope too much.

jcsat3 in Australia

Found this report for the time being, about a reception in Australia. Don't know if the pay TV channels were available though.
More info as it comes.

I took a look on the footprint: http://www.jsat.net/site/satellite/jcsat3/index_e.html

C-Band is close to NW Australia but getting it in Sydney is awesome.
Ku-Band with 4m, maybe from the Asian beam in Perth but the japanese spotbeam seems too far away.
