My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 5 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/13E/16E /19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

Plenty round near 180 degrees, although the Earth gets in the way for European viewers.

In Europe you are limited to

CCTV4 & 9 on Hotbird (both fta)
Phoenix & CCTV9 on Astra2 (fta)
JSTV on Hotbird (NHK news programmes fta, full channel about 300 ukp a year)

Theres a couple of scrambled Chinese language channels too on 19E and 13E

Go here:

http://www.kingofsat.net/en/search.php

and search on language.

My System: none

You won't get much from the JSTV channel anyway, It's the equivalent of BBC Prime. mostly general entertainment for expats.
The most wierd stuff I saw in Japan was on cable cannels.

My System: Sky Digital - Freeview - FTA Digital Satellite (19E) - Broadband

Takeshi's Castle is on Challenge TV. It used to be on DSF, along with the similar show Sports Bakka (Challenger on Fire).

Talking

Sports Bakka! The word bakka in Japanese is (if I remember correctly) a very impolite way of calling someone an idiot, a literal translation would be "retard" or "spaz"!
