Thumbs up

Here on the Surrey / Sussex Boarders (Near Gatwick Airport) no problems on a 1.1 meter dish with a 0.3 LNB.

My System: Triax TD88 dish w/ 4 LNBs (13E, 19E, 23.5E, 28E), Skystar2 2.6 with March beta drivers, Vista, DVBViewer.

Borderline in Edinburgh with a 88cm motorised. It's 100% quality in current cloudy weather, but only just - move it 0.2 degrees either side and it plummets. I suspect if it was raining it wouldn't be watchable.

Is that for the Czech channels as well as the Slovak channels arfster?

Sorry, didn't realise the difference. Nothing on 12525V or 12649H, not a peep. Must be quite a bit weaker transponders? Astra beam map says 47dBW for me, and normally I'm fine down to 43/44.

Correction, my positioner is off by 0.6 degrees (strange as it's spot on for all other sats). Anyway, Czech tps above now scannable, but completely unwatchable - probably needs a 1.1m here. Slovak channels on 12565H are now 100%Q, but only 23% lev so probably a bit dodgy with rain. German ones are now 45%, so would be fine even with the worst weather.

OK thanks, yes there is a significant difference between the Slovak and the Czech channels.

Lightbulb czech link

i got czech link today with 1m dish and a droll .6 lnb for about 10min in moray scotland( 40 miles from inverness ) then it faded out on me.

i have a czech customer who is desperate to get the channels he has subscribed to, funny thing is he got his subscription before he looked for a installer.

he speaks very little english, hence its hard to explain to him why he got to watch ct1, ct2, ct24, galaxie sport and prima tv, c5 film, top tv for 10 min. the the signal dropped out.

iv ordered a stronger lnb and im contiplating whether i should get him a 1.5 or a 1.8 dish.

All there so called strong lnb would not do much better all the 0.3 and 0.2db lnb talk is a waste of time, What you would need is a high qulity dish like the andews 1.8m with ku-band linear feedhorn & c120 lnb,

The last noble sat warrior to fly the olden flag of Analogue

Theres was some very strange reception conditions all over Europe yesterday, with Astra 2D reported in Cyprus & Tenerife on "undersized dishes"

AERIALS & SATELLITES saw Astra 3A, and I had some Sirius 3 tp's on an 80cm dish which I dont normally get......

My System: Skystar 2 1.1m Triax 0.2 Titanium lnb

Kilkenny S.Ireland. 1.1m Triax, Smart 0.2 lnb, Skystar 2.
Czechlink 45% strength, 100% quality. Pretty sure it is 24/7
Slovaklink 29% strength, 100% quality. Perfectly watchable but goes in moderate rain.

My System: Triax TD88 (95cmx85cm), Technomate 1600 super, 0.2LNB, Moteck2100 motor.

Good signal now here (not far from Stansted Airport) on my Triax td88. 74-78% on Czech link, and 70-73% on the Slovak link. 24 hour clear picture. Not tested in bad weather yet, but with comfortably over 70% it should not be a problem. Only received these channels after re-allignment by a pro, and a bit of LNB skewing.

My System: 95dish, satcatcher diseqc motor, Voyager3 rx, cams etc

I have been told by my Czech friends that there are now czech language programmes on 1west. Satcodx confirms this but my motor is playing up so I cannot confirm it. Anyone else tried this spot?

There is no such thing as a stronger LNB-f good luck finding a high qulity 1.5m dish with matched ku feed in the uk, Astra 3a is a 1.8m andrews or prodelin job where you are as i have tried it a few times when i have been working in scotland,

We have no results for Birmingham, but I would guess at bigger than 1.2m.

I actually remember looking for this info on behalf of another installer last month.

At the moment with the cloud the result is Nothing and I'm 30 miles from B'ham with a 90cm & Invacom LNb.

But... remember some picture blocking when it's a clear day with signal drop out sometimes.

Note: There is also a considerable difference in footprint between Horz & vertical transponders from that satellite on that beam.

The Vert footprint is weaker from the footprint maps.

Hope this helps
