Brilliant !

Nice one mate, there seems to be a fair bit of interest currently with this sat.
We'll see what people actually get now.

Ipswich Suffolk, no problem receiving both Czech and Slovak links with either 85cm or 1m dishes.
Of course I do use Gibertini dishes though .
I do not stay up all night to see if signal is lost though .

Seems to diminish mid morning and start to pick up again now Jeff.
I'll try to find a peak time over the next few days .

No sign at all of Astra 3A in Galashiels with the 80cm dishes although its been a while since I had a look for 3A.. Co-located 1D is an easy catch.

Yes, the two HD transponders on Vertical Low band tend to jump out on the spectrum analyser when you scan past the satellite.

in wales near newport i tryed with my 1.2m channel master but no luck only a small amount of signal on my horizons sat metre, But had to install a 1.8m andrews ( channel master ) for some czech customers of mine for czech link, so in newport/ cardiff area you need a 1.8m dish for 24 reception

@ Lancelot
Agreed, the Czech and Slovak channels show lower quality levels during mid morning to mid afternoon here also. Similar pattern with Arabsat and Nilesat.
Allthough lower quality levels recorded on Czech and Slovak channels I still have stable pictures from both 85cm and 1m Gib dishes.

Must be the horse manure that I put at the base of the pole .

The Astra foot print form astra seems right as between malmesbury & newport/cardiff the signal really drops alot,
The is bad news for people i have done systems for in the past as i had some one call me today about upgradeing to astra 3a but they live on a 3rd floor of a small block of flats so there stuck now and not very happy as they only moved in there new build flat under 12 months ago

My System:

Don't know if this is of interest to this thread (if not, just delete this), but in Iceland you can barely receive the vertical channels (e.g. Czech Link) on a 1.8 m Channel Master dish with Invacom 0.3 dB Quattro LNB. Nothing on the horizontal channels (Slovak Link) though.

My System: ..

Hi everyone just posting back from my earlier thread. I have now got my 100cm dish up and I am receiving Czech Channels 24/7 with no break up. I am in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire. On my 80cm dish I could receive the slovak channels 24/7. Thank you all again who helped me originally a few months back.

Great idea

Hey Rolf, great idea to create a map.

As you may recall from Jan/Feb, I was trying to achieve this, I will have to go and have another look to see what signal I get. Last time I checked it was intermittent, but the currently freaky weather might have an impact!

Paul.

Hi Paul, you won't get a sniff with an 80cm, you need a nice little 1.2m tucked in the corner of your back garden.
