My System: Sky UK. FTA analogue & digital satellite from 6 fixed dishes (5E/7E/9E/10E/13E/16E/ 19E/23E/28E) Pace MSS100, Echostar IP3000VA, Technomate TM-1000D, Dreambox 7020S

Way too small 1.2m is barely big enough in the London corridor.

Nilesat is aimed at the eastern Mediterranean area. Although the satellites are performing better than expected and can be picked up in the UK, signal strengths fall off rapidly north and west. I have seen reports of full reception in the manchester area on a 1.8m dish, so thats your starting dish size if you want V & H reception, but dont be surprised if that isnt big enough in Belfast.

Thanks for the reply Analoguesat. I am interested in the MBC, channels and I think they are Horizontal. Are the Horizontal channels 'easier' tho pull in? I have saw a 1.8 Prime focus dish for sale. Or would I be better trying to get a 1.8 off set like a larger CM? Thank you in advance.

I used to get the MBC channels during the summer. Weather can cause havoc with weak signals

The MBC chnls are on the vertical beams (these are easier).
He's further west so that makes sense with a 1mtr.

A 1.8 CM can be had for less than £400.
Don't buy a Fortecstar.

Have spotted an 1.5 'sat chaser' off set dish and a 1.85 off set dish. Wat are the planning permission requirements for these size of dish. I currently have no planning permission, just 'good' neighbours!

Currently 100cm in the largest direction. So rely on the neighbours.

The 'satchaser' looks like the Prodelin, and these can be had on Ebay fairly cheaply. You need to post a pic of the 1.85mtr for consideration.
