All Vertical Transponders seem fine getting some break up on a few of the Horizontals though

My System: TM6800HD, TM1000, TM600 Linux,TM5200, TM2200 motor, Triax TD110 dish + Fortec 85cm. Meter=Satlook Micro+G2 NIT

All horizontal and all vertical transponders from both Nilesat 101 and Nilesat 102.

One weak transponder - 11804H, the rest of the hoizonatals are 69% or above on my TM1000D super. (receiver threshold approx 65-66%)

This is with a Precision 1.8 Prime focus currently with an Inverto white Tech single and an Invacom adjustable feedhorn in Gravesend, Kent.

Waiting for a matched feedhorn to arrive, hopefully that might improve further.

Also got a couple of locks on AB4 at 7.2W, but no picture.

My System: DM500s 45E to 45W 1.2M Channel Mater

Most Vertical Transponders during the evening, but non Horizontal transponders. Can Anyone tell me which is the strongest Horizontal channel I can try?

1.2M Andrews Ch Master
Titanium 0.2 (1st Edition)
Approx 20M Cable

What would be the best LNB for my dish and where to buy?

Thanks

YesI will do a picture when it's light. It doesn't look good at the moment, dish is on a scaffold pole clamped to a workmate. 25.5E is not going to possible due to obstructions at the moment.

My System: Gibertini 1M XP Premium - Inverto Black Ultra .2db LNB - Technomate 2200 motor - Vantage 7100 HD. 57E - 22W - 60cm solid oval dish fixed on 28.2 - Humax Freesat HD - Sony Bravia LCD - Sony BluRay and Sony Home Cinema

Hi,

Location 0.9°W, 48.5°N. Conditions tonight (22:30) very clear, slightly frosty. Just fitted a Smart Titanium .2 LNB the other day and this afternoon moved it about 1cm in it's collar towards the dish focus. Seems to have improved things, although I can usually get good results from verticals on Nilesat all day (average of 49%Q) unless the weather is really bad.

Horizontals:

12303 - 61/46 (Strength/Quality)
11919 - 62/43
11959 - 62/42
11996 - 63/42
12304 - 63/44
12703 - 62/41
12226 - 63/45
12303 - 62/45
12419 - 66/44

Receiver cut off seems to be about 41%, so getting a stable picture most of the time. Things have improved as it gets later, but I want to try and move the LNB in a little more and see what happens. Perhaps when there is another clear night!!

Thats no surprise - 80cm is too small for even the stronger V frequencies off 7W in the UK.

It is just possible to get 11862V on an 80cm wide Fortec Star dish in Kent.

I get all H's and V's (except AB4A) on my 1.2mtr Fibo located near Heathrow.

But when it's raining I lose 11766H and 11804H... The rest are fine though...

Tried and retried (11862V) - can't get anything at all... not a sausage.

A lot of 8w stuff seems to leak in

I have heard that the quad output are better than the single input, is this true?

I am using a 1.2 Channel Master. Getting a few Vertical channels only in the evening though. Im in Manchester.

Also by pulling the LNB further out from the dish increases signal, or does iy bring more noise from the edge of the dish?

I hope you can guide me to get the full power out of my dish.

Thanks

People say that about the Invacom quad. I haven't heard it in relation to Inverto.

Are you using a CM feedhorn? It's matched for that dish.

The LNB should be at the focal point of the dish. If the feedhorn is matched to the dish it will collect signal from the entire dish surface but not beyond. Moving the LNB away from the focal point will result in signal degradation.

What are you getting on 10930H? I can't get anything from AB4A after the switch over even on a 1.5 metre dish. Re: 2.4m how much BBC2 are you getting? If it's been installed by a typical Costa Blanca "satellite engineer" just using a squawker then the chances are you should be able to pick up a whole lot more if it is dialled in with a proper professional meter.

At present Im using the 1st Edition of the Titanium LNB on my 1.2 CM. I want to increase the gain by about 5-6db this will lock into more channels on the vertial beams.

I have heard mix feedback regarding the matched feedhorn for this dish. I dont want to go out and spend over a £100 on LNB and Feedhorn

please advise
Thanks
