You might get a couple of tenths of a db changing the LNB. If you want to pick up 6db you will need to double the dish diameter.

I am in stoke, can get the verticals but no horizontals. I am using a 1m dish but would recommend getting a bigger dish.

Not sure exactly what your asking or equipment you have as your description is vague.

A 60cm dish is a little small for a 15° LNb offset separation.

Yes, that should be fine for Hotbird.

Hello!
yesterday,i recogneized, during heavy rain, that the educ transponder is much lower, then the shwotime transponders, the old nilesat 101,i think will be replaced in around one year from now on!
but a bad feeling says me at the moment, that the will use much stronger spotbeams, then now!
lets hope the best!

My System: Gibertini 1M XP Premium - Inverto Black Ultra .2db LNB - Technomate 2200 motor - Vantage 7100 HD. 57E - 22W - 60cm solid oval dish fixed on 28.2 - Humax Freesat HD - Sony Bravia LCD - Sony BluRay and Sony Home Cinema

Hi,

I changed to an Inverto Black Ultra last week and after a little tweaking with dish elevation and focus of the LNB can now get a watchable lock on 12303H (69% strength 44% quality). This is the strongest of the H transponders but I have never seen it this strong at 14:00 my time.

I will look again this evening (if it's fine) and try to put V and H reading on this thread, although I realise my location may make some of this data less relevant.

Huevos,

I have to agree, if it's fine after 10pm I can receive a very watchable picture on most of the Nilesat horizontals and even watched some of the MBC verticals during pouring rain earlier this evening. Right now (23:45)I'm watching Gear One on 12226H without any breakup under heavy cloud cover. It's showing 70% strength and 47% quality.

Superb piece of kit.

Just to update, these readings were taken today at 17:00 CET with light cloud cover:

12303H...71S/47Q
12226H...67S/46Q
12419H...67S/45Q
12073H...70S/44Q
12034H...71S/44Q
11919H...69S/44Q
11996H...70S/43Q
11958H...69S/41Q

On my Manhattan anything above 45Q produces a watchable picture without breakup. Yes, I'm pleased with the Black Ultra!! Now I'll see what happens when my Vantage 7100HD arrives!!

Hi there,
I have just finished setting up a motorised 110cm Bigsat dish (measures 110cm width), at my office in Brussels. I used a B.E.S.T Germany single output LNBF on an FTEMax 212 receiver.
I am getting all Nilesat vertical and horizontal TPs, even Fox News on TP 11804 H. But weather is superb.
Unfortunately nothing on AB4, nor on Badr6.

Where do you view quality on a Manhattan? You do mean a Plaza don't you? I've got an XT-M and don't see a quality bar anywhere.

My System: humax 5400 irci 1 metre dish

using a cheapo maplins 1.85 petal dish with c120 inverto whitetech 0.3 and universal feedhorn.

i can get nearly all vs and some h when uits clear.
a gust of wind and the dish flexes and the struts holding the lnb move it off centre.
i didnt expect much more but wanted to see if a big dish was the answer and i am sure that a decent make would pull more in.
unless i can sort out the lnb problem and brace things a bit.
also what settings should i select on my receiver and dvb pc card for the lnb?
its on universal on both atm but the pc card has a kuband setting.
any clues?
thx
