Recieving Swedish Satellite from London

Dear Forum members and Satellite Experts!

Looking to receive Swedish Satellite , specifically SIRIUS 3 (VIASAT on 5.oE) and perhaps more importantly THOR 2 (CANAL DIGITAL 0.8W) from my London home

My location is London, UK (51.425N , 0.157W)

1. Is reception at all possible?
2. If so, what size dish is required for a decent signal strength
3. Advice on LNB and other equipment I should buy and any recommended sellers?

Thanks all!
Sammy

My System: Pace Sky HD, DM7000s, CubeRevo 3000HDPVR, Transparent 80cm Dish, Moteck SG2100 DiseqC motor, lots of legacy gear. Meters: Satlook Digital NIT, Televes H45 Digital Spectrum analyser.

For Thor an 80cm will be fine for some of the channels, but for anything on the Nordic Beam you will probably need a 1.2m dish http://www.lyngsat.com/1west.html http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/thor3.html

For Sirius, again an 80cm for some, but a 1.2m for other channels http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/maps/thor3.html

which channels in particular do you want to receive? Many people are content with the channels an 80cm dish will bring from Thor, those being on the Nordic Beam.

Many thanks RolfW,

So a solid 1.2m dish it is with a Twin Universal LNB spaced 6deg apart. Mainly looking for SVT1, SVT2, TV3 and TV3 and Nordic Eurosport. Although most of these are free in sweden via analouge and digital terrestrial trasmission, it appears they are encrypted on Satellite (which sucks)

Given i will need to de-code these signals, what receiver is best? Humax or Samsung or other?

Cheers
Samir
