Instructions for updating FTA500

Hi.
First thanks for your discussions that help a new member like me to understand something more about updating and setting my new decoder.

I have a FTA500 Premium with Sw DMT05.V308

I understand It is possible to update the SW to activate an automatic update of SRG/RAI key.

I don't know how to do that.
May I have some help?

English manuals and versions of SW and keys?

1000 Thanks and compliments for your work

Hi miccri and welcome to our forum,

I've moved your post to a new thread so that it can be better viewed and helped.
I'm going to translate your question. Since I don't have my dish turned to hotbird I can't help. But some of our friends who do capture hotbird can help.
In any case we do have available a new firm that does AutoUpdate for TPS channels ; so you can see those channels.

Boas pessoal,

Podem confirmar se com o firm V313 está a fazer neste momento AU dos canais SRG e RAI ?
Obrigada. Se precisarem de tradução eu faço-o sem problema.

Cumprimentos

You also asked help for downloading the firmware into your Head500.

So for receiver He@d there is the firm V313 that does autoroll in TPS channels.
To have the channels decodified you have to:

1) Save the correct firm for Head500 FTA in your PC, as well as Loader 2.3, which is the program used to load firms into Head receivers.

2) Then load the firm as according to Manual (A). Special attention as to which moment you have to plug your receiver to electricity.

Then after loading the firm do the following <7>+<info> and Default. That should do to have your receiver decodify the TPS.

But if suddenly the image stops in a chanell, then try to unplug / plug to electricity.

(A)Get this manual from sendspace, and I'll translate the procedure to load the firm into your receiver. _http://www.sendspace.com/file/8i7255

1) Update Software ;

Download Tool, Loader 2.3
Execute the program <Loader 2.3>

2) Configure the port COM in use through the menu File - Configuration. (normally it's port COM1)

3) Select in File-DownLoad.
a) Then choose file Firm V313 that you saved in your PC.

4) When it gives a message saying Status: Please Power Off/On -> then you plug your receiver to electricity. The download starts imediatly after.

5) Wait till appears message: DownLoading End.

6) Wait one minute and unplug the receiver.

I hope it's understandable.

ddsb sayed that the keys for SRG and RAI are correct but for some unknown reason the receiver doesn't decodify them. But ddsb can't test them because his dishes are unoperational for the moment.

ddsb is from team.head.pt and normally his the guy that gives us all the information regarding the firmwares, softcam and daily tps.bin.

He's a great friend of ours

Escuse me Sophia.

Only 1 doubt: what do you mean when you say

"Then after loading the firm do the following <7>+<info> and Default. That should do to have your receiver decodify the TPS."

It may be a stupid question for you, but it' s the first time I do an upgrade.

Thank you again.

Thank you again.
So after downloading of the firm ends, you unplug it, and connect it to your TV , as usual. Then turn it on and , with your He@d remote control, press 7 and then INFO and then the red button (Default).

This is done so that you force the receiver to "read" the keys in the new firm.

So try this and gives us your feed-back. This firm has auto-update for TPS keys so you should have no problems catching those channels if your dish is turned to hotbird (13ºE).

My System: HE@D HD500FTA Premium keyfly

I just tryed to execute the instructions.

When I try to set the configuration of the serial port COM1, the loader returns an error: "Cannot Open SeriaPort".

The control panel says that the port works correctly.
I set the configuration requested of the port (115200, 8, no parity, 1, HW Flow control) via control panel.

Trying to upload firmware the loader returns an error "No Matched Model!!!".

I don't understand if I have HW problems, or there is a Sw compatibility with operating system (XP SP2) .

Help!!!
Bye

PS: My version of HD500FTA is Premium KEYFLY. I don't know if the firmware I need is the same.

Hi miccri,

Is your HE@D a normal 500 FTA Premium, or is it a KEYFLY ? Does your receiver have any sticker saying KEYFLY ?

Once we hada a member that had the sames problem and he was trying to load a firm of HD500 FTA into a head 500 fta keyfly and that same message appeared to him.
"No Matched Model!!!".
As for your operating system it's the same as mine, so no problem on that.

You are welcome ddsb.

You all helped me before and it's the first thing I can do for you.

Don't worry about asking me anything more.

I think it's a target of the satellites community.
