Here we have a screenshot and the TS analyzer window of sotos65 receiving strong signal on his 1.10m in Chania (Western Crete): http://www.avclub.gr/forum/showthread.php?p=261987

As you can see, the "HD" is a very poor DVB-S H.264 signal <100KB/s

I get Al Jazeera 1 & 2, MBC 1,2,3 & 4 with 75% signal quality(90cm dish). I tried the above freq., but the channel did not show up.

Those are on the Nilesats. AB4 carries the following: http://www.lyngsat.com/ab4.html and take a look at the beams: http://www.lyngsat-maps.com/ab4.html <38dbW for the Wide beam which means at least a very well 1.80m not to say 2.40m in the most eastern parts of Portugal. But i don't know how realistic the footprint is in your region since i could get only one frequency as the stongest of all at 7W on my 65cm Gibertini: 12341V

Yes, you are correct. But since I did a search on that frequency(10834GHz.), the channels on Nilesat showed up. I did then a fine tune(advanced search) in DVB-S2 and the signal strength lowered to 25% and signal quality was 0% to 2%.

I see. I wonder why AB4 has this strange beam. Are Algeria and Morocco 2nd category arabic speaking states ?

My System: Sky HD, TM6800HD, Manhattan Plaza ST550 and TM1500 CI+. 1.0m dish and 36v motor, Panasonic DVD HDD recorder and Panasonic video/DVD recorder. Sony G800 HD TV stand/surround system + Sony KDL40W2000. Infinity USB, Elvis, CAS1, CAS2.

The new Technomate HDs (PVR ready) look interesting but haven't seen a review by any users yet.

Seems to have been some problems with the Humax and they are appearing on Ebay. Maybe ppl bought them for the world cup and then didn't want whats on offer after that. Which isn't a great deal just yet.
