better picutre quality,of a hd channel, only a illusion in mind?

Hello!
just found an intresting report,in a german newsletter translated to english!

The term HDTV leads consumers to the fact that the TV picture is automatically perceived as better, even if it is not a case of a HD resolution. To this end, a series of experiments comes from the Dutch researchers. Two broad groups of 30 people each got the exact same DVD movie shown on a conventional flat-screen TV. While one group was advised was the seers of the other group suggests that it is in the DVD recording to an HD presentation on a current HDTV sets.

The result was clear: Regardless of the identical input signal, the second group rated the seen image as a much clearer and sharper than the test group was informed about the DVD playback. "The result is not surprising to us to be honest, although the psychological effect has yet been felt more strongly than expected," said Lidwien van de Wijngaert of Twente University press text to the news agency. Together with colleagues from the University of Utrecht, they wanted to use the experiment to illustrate the importance of "packaging" of innovative developments, so that the mass market can be successful.

Van de Wijngaert leading to slow adoption and diffusion of HD content, including back to the wrong marketing strategy: "Cable operators are currently trying to watch HD programs on new functionality of set-top boxes such as flexible recording options, video on demand, and the like to apply to instead of focusing on marketing to the better picture quality. Our study suggests, however, that psychologically speaking, is precisely the argument the increased image quality, which provides consumers with TV for inspiration. " It would also show the good sales of HD-capable TVs on the market.

To convince the subjects of "better" image, leaving nothing to chance, the Dutch researchers. Thus equipped, in the case of the second group, the HD television set with stickers and an extremely thick image input cable. Posters in the screening room, praising the excellent quality of the supposed HD picture that helped the rest of the positive reception from the audience. The report of the Dutch research published in the journal Computers in Entertainment (CIE), Volume 7, Issue 3rd
