Thor Diablo HDCI2000 errors

I am setting up a Thor dish on 0.8w, I get Digi film, Canal+ (incl film HD ) signals clearing with Diablo but the BBC HD, Discovery HD and some others won't clear. I tried a different receiver and that's fine with good signal strength and quality. Tried two 2.3 Diablo cams in both receivers fine in Topfield, blackout on Humax.

The box is on V16 firmware at the moment, has anyone got this box working properly on Thor?

What firmware are you using?

I managed to get a copy of V11 and 15 firmware. Works OK with 11 but not 16 or 15.

With v11 I do get green pixellation/flashes but not all the time. Anyone know if other versions are better?

My System: humax hdci2000 samsung 9500via, samsung 9500ya, 1.1 meter motorised solid dish, toshiba rd-xs27ke dvd yamaha rx-v1700 home cinema numerous cams & cards

Software version 11 is the only one that can handle symbol rates ( s/r ) of 30000, so use that one,,, try putting the cam in the lower slot of the humax hd2000, works for me,,,

Hi skomedal
I have had a bit of trouble with the forum as I couldn't get the site to load here. Now working again so yes it seems much better in the lower slot and pretty stable.
Thanks

On Thor channels 1w I got green flashes with Diablo in top slot. Cured now using lower slot - others have had the same problem but I don't know why!

@ wod

Some recievers get green flashes ( pixelation ) when you use the top ( upper ) slot for you cam, amongst those that I have tried the Arion hd 8000 was the worst followed by the humax 2000hd,,, both were cured by putting the cam into the lower slot..... Probably an incompatablity problem when using the diablo cam did not get the same problem when using the dragon cam!!!!

So if you get green flashes when using the diablo cam put it into the lower slot!

Help! problem with HDCI2000

Dear Friends,

My HDCI-2000 has been used to see scrambled programs of "Canaldigital" on Thor 0.8W through toroidal T90. I have the similar problem as "developers" described that only few HD channel signals but not others like BBC HD and Discouvery HD when the firmware
was on V16. After downgraded firmware to v11, all of the HD programe can be seen but only on the first time. After restart, I cannnot see ALL of the scrambled programe (HD+SD). Instead,it showes "no connection" on the popup Commen Interface windows which was also showed up on several unreceivable HD channels when the fireware was v16.

The mechine works again on all of the scrambled SD and some of the HD as before when firaware is re-uppgraded to v16.

Could you experts tell me what the problem is and how I can solve it. Thanks in advance!

Regards,
Anna

Hi Anna, welcome to the forum.

Many of the firmware versions provided by Humax are flawed in some way. Updates addressed some problems and introduced others. As no more firmware has been provided by Humax for this STB for some time, we have to live with those already available.

I don't have your CAM, so can't help with that one, sorry.

I assumed you had a CAM (Conditional Access Module) for your Canal Digital card as there is no card slot in the Humax.

A Diablo is a programmable CAM for decrypting various providers, although not much use with the current tightly encrypted services. Or you can use it with a legitimate card. What are you inserting your card in ? Must be some form of CAM.

Hi Llew:

Thank you so much for the reply.

Yes, the CAM used in the receiver is CA Modul Conax v4 for the card from Canal Digital company. So it is an absolutely legitimate card Does this CAM v4 work only for the Humax HDCI2000 on v16 but not v11? How about Conax CAM v5? Thanks!

Anna

I've no idea Anna, as I don't have a Conax CAM, only Diablo, using firmware v.11. Maybe someone with your STB/CAM combination will be able to help if they see this thread.
