Don't know, don't have a Pace, so can't compare - I just look at the anecdotal evidence on various forums.

For instance, I believe there were some problems with using CAMS other than 'official' ones in the Pace - has this been resolved?

You've no doubt read the pluses and minuses concerning the Humax in this thread, so let's turn your question round - does the Pace have any quirks similar to the Humax, or indeed has it any problems (setting up, menu structure etc.)

Hi Llew, Your comments were almost word-for-word what I was going to write as I wanted to know what the Pace is like and how it compares. the Humax is brilliant in picture quality but fails in other areas like Menu and saving of settings etc. If the Pace can equal picture quality and does a better job with the rest I may be interested in getting one as well as the Humax. Always best to keep all options open. So I hope Johnny can give us some insight on the Pace.

Same here. Wouldn't it be nice though if you could 'select all' 1080i channels from the main channel list and put them all into a favourites list? Instead of having to search through thousands of channels for the 'HD' bit in the name?

Try pressing the opt+ button to select audio language and then selecting a language that isn't broadcasting any sound, ok this and the english soundtrack will come through after a couple of seconds, if it doesn't try going up a channel and then going back, this one had me foxed for a while but now I have them in English. Hope this helps.

Hi there Box o Balls. Welcome to the Forum.

Leave your receiver switched off (not standby) until you are ready to upload your software.

Turn on the box after you click upload.

This will initiate file transfer.

tried that, followed the instructions to the letter. the connection error time out only appears when running the upload from the Formula app. If i run the download from the WDN it sits there waiting to connect the Humax.
the time out error is basically saying nothing is connected as you would get the same error if you disconnect the serial cable?

I had a similar problem, turned out to be that I left my cam in, apparently the cam slots must be free to perform a software update, hope this helps.

Unhappy Help needed!

Hi there! I have the predasaur 2.13 on t-rex cam installed on my humax hdci-2000. I entered the latest keys for D+ but it just seems to accept them and do nothing. When I enter decimal keys it just gives you the hex format and goes back to the key menu. I have done the security update, is there anything silly that I am forgeting to do. its on a FTA channel before I enter the keys. I have been checking a Taquilla channel after entering the key, it says the channel is scrambled or not available and after a few seconds changes to Reference 13- This channel/broadcast is not sending. I have not been able to unscramble any channels. I am only picking up a signal from Astra 1, I thought this would have been ok for Taquilla and premiere channels. Any ideas?
I entered cam with predasaur 2.13 already installed on it from supplier, I did not do anything to it with a programmer. Should I?
All I did was a security update and I have removed the card and turned power on and off.
regards

Have you definitely got the latest k*ys for that provider?

1/03/07 k*ys have only just been released.

Yeah, I tried yesterday but have just got todays k*ys and they dont work either. Yesterday was my first day so totally new to this. I cant get any extra channels at all with my cam. When you enter keys to you get a message at all. Nothing happens except back to k*y menu. Do I have to exit this menu any particular way?
There is a hex code already in key menu is this normal? I am therefore just entering the decimal version of this code?? is this correct??

Should I not get extra channels with cam without the need to enter in codes daily?

I only have the basic Dragon cam, but AFAIK the cam menu is similar, i.e when you enter a set of keys it will revert to the key menu, and the cleared channel is visible straight away under the menu.

Pr*miere keys for Astra 19E have been available for some time, and they should be up to date on the Pred version you have.

Other than that, as you presumably are able to view FTA channels on that satellite, I can't really advise as to why you can't clear anything with your cam.

does it make any difference what channel I am on before I start entering the k*ys. Yeah I have the FTA channels, have a bad signal for pr*miere channels so havnt tried to enter k*ys for them. Maybe I needed to do something with card before entering it.
Thanks anyway Llew!

Hi Brunswick

I am having the same problem as you with D+ keys. I updated my T-Rex Cam to Pred 3.56 Feb27 yesterday and everything was then available. Today D+ disappeared and I found new k*ys were available as Llew mentioned, which I entered manually. But still won't bring D+ stuff back. Is this a common thing to get unworking k*y updates until the Pred is next updated?

It seems reasonable to assume that both you guys have old k*ys (although in Brunswick's case it may be more complicated).

Barrykap, I'm watching D+ channels now with Pred 3.56 and the latest k*ys.

Not being funny, but may I suggest you check your file again?

Hi Llew,

File is correct if you are refering to the latest (27 Feb) Pred. The CI-module menu is slightly different now from 3.56 as there is no Pr*m listed in aladin and the Menu items for aladin are; D*g*tal+ N2, TV C*b* N2, P*ls*t, unknowm, then about five 'empty'.

I have just re-entered the k*ys again into 01-0 and 01-1 aginst D*g*tal+ N2 but still no joy on TQ etc. Am I doing something else wrong? As you know I am still a newbee here :-)

Thanks.

Don't know what version of Pred you're using, but my 3.56 has D +, C*bo, P*lsat and P*remiere listed in Oh!Aladin.

In any case, latest D + k*ys go in 00-0 and 01-0 (As at 02/03/07).

Hi Llew, As I said I am using version 'Pred 3,56 Feb 27' obtained from here; _http://www.laurals.com/dragon.htm If you look at the top of the downloads list there are three updates for the k*ys. I have been using these. I don't know of any other source for the file and k*ys as I just found this site via Googling. Regards, Barry. ps. I have just noticed on this site that the k*ys are now shown for 00-0 and 01-1 but yeserday they were as I said 01-0 and 01-1. I still have a hard copy of them. So there must have been a mistake yesterday which they have now corrected? Will I now need to reload Pred to correct the (incorrectly) changed k*ys do you know?
