Hi, I tried last night to do an auto update and got a "no new update" message??
Can anybody help or have any suggestions, I tried a number of times and even tried selecting manual update and selecting Astra 1 in the sat menu all with the same results.

You can do a PC - STB update of v1.00.16 by downloading it from the Humax site.

I didn't fancy dismantling half my setup so I could get my box near the PC! On one of the previous posts it said you can do the update using Astra 1, I tried a manual update inputting all the info from the Humax site and still no luck????
Oh well looks like I'm gonna have to spend an afternoon dismantling. Will this update allow me to get ITV HD with a channel search?

Cheers

No, only receivable if you have it working already in your current channel list.

Thanks LLew, I have a channel list that has the ITV HD entry in it so it looks like I can kill 2 birds with one stone whilst I have it all apart! Do you know of any way of updating your channel list without mucking up your favourites list?

Cheers

Not that I'm aware of. A new list will need reinstallation of a new favourites list. Using two Formula editors to paste the original favourites list to the new channel list isn't (as far as I know) possible; even if it was, the channel numbering is unlikely to be the same.

Hi 350Z Man
It is of course possible to get ITV HD using your own channel list uploaded to PC and edited - see my post 2 on http://www.satellites.co.uk/satellit...tml#post743141 which will keep all your favourites. Just remember you must scan for Brit Shorts before you dismantle your setup!

My System: Humax HDCI2000 Motorized 1m dish T-Rex 4.6 cam 42"Plasma Panasonic

At long last I've found the time to dismantle so I can do the software upgrade and add ITV HD to my channel list.........now I can't get the PC and STB to talk. This is driving me bonkers!!! Last time I connected them up was to upload a channel list from Laurals and worked perfectly, nothings changed with the setup and now nothing, can anyone please help before I explode. I run the sofware, switch on STB into standby using the switch on rear of the box and nothing. This happens with both winoak and the formula software....am I doing something wrong? Have I suffered brain fade?

Many thanks

Take the box out of standby before attempting a transfer, then switch off. With your data ready in Formula, switch the box on again.

Same result I'm afraid, I don't understand this, I've noticed a couple of people have successfully updated v16 from either hotbird or astra, after trying many times over the last month I have been unsuccessful so I thought I'd be safe doing it by connecting to my PC....how wrong I was! As I mentioned I downloaded a channel list a few months back with no problems, I've changed nothing with the PC so I'm really stumped.

Thanks for your time and help.

My System: Humax 5400,Humax 2000hd,QS1080ir Channelmaster 1.2 motorised dish.

Before you give up,re-boot the computer, make sure nothing is running in the background, and then run formula again. If need be,try this a few times and it should work.
Good luck.

Yup, it's the same cable I used to upload the Laurals channel list to the Humax a couple of months ago. I made the mistake of using a gender changer the first time i tried to update the software and learnt the hard way! This is what's annoying me, it's exactly the same setup that I have used successfully before, I suspect the problem lies at the PC end of things so I've just got to keep trying and hoping. Thanks anyway.

Are you using a usb to serial cable adapter??? Same thing happened with me and I deleted and reinstalled the drivers for the adapter and it worked no problem..Another obvious one..have you checked you are using the proper comm port? and that it's not conflicting with another piece of hard ware?
good luck

Using a null modem cable, I think it's a question of keep trying and being patient! Although I am running out of that, I have some time available on Friday possibly so may give it another go then, thanks guys for the help.

My System: ...

Regarding the too dark image;

I can adjust the HDMI video settings in my Pioneer plasma. Default it's on "auto". I have manually set it to "0-255" and the image is good now. Not too dark anymore.

Maybe the same can be done in other tv's.

EDIT: hmm, setting to "0-255" works only well for SD channels. HD channels become too washed out color wise.

Fixed Dish Channel List (27/09/08)

This channel list is based on Laural's latest motorised list (12/09/08) which can be found over at Laural's site.

I have kept the satellite list the same as my previous list, I may add new satellites in a modified list later.

Hi Ervil,

I have just downgraded my HDCI-2000 from 1.00.16 to 1.00.07 and then back to 1.00.04.

I hoped, by reading this thread, that 1.00.07 would be low enough to get rid of the RGB 0-255 problem but it is not. I can confirm that you have to go back to 1.00.04 to get the RGB 16-235 values back on the HDMI interface.

Personally I don't see any disadvantages by going back to the old 1.00.04 version. My Humax is much faster with .04 compared to .16 and my CAM is working better also

Oh yeah, the channel list is still there after the downgrade but the Astra 3 satellite became User Define 4 and I had to associate it with DiSEqC C. The other 3 LNB's remained just fine.

I believe you will lose Dolby Digital over HDMI if your software is 1.00.04.

Thanks for the info

That will not be a problem in my setup because I have connected my HDCI-2000 to a Sony receiver using the optical S/PDIF output (toslink).

Dolby Digital 5.1 is also working fine with BBC HD and the other HD channels.

I am really happy that I have my Black Level Detail back when I use the HDMI connection to my Pioneer PDP-507XD Plasma TV

Picture Quality is really awesome on BBC HD, Discovery HD, NGC HD and Luxe TV HD
