Interactive Services

Hi

Do you know how, with this receiver, we can have access to Interactive Services, as for example with BBC ?

In the receiver's manual, we can read "Select colour keys for interactive applications", however, with the infamous "RED" button, we can only access the receiver's channel list, with the "GREEN" button we can only access the favourites, etc.

Thanks in advance for any help.

Shahid, Thanks for the info and the link, that has boosted my confidence to the point where I think it is going to be worth the extra costs / risk involved.

Thanks a million

Hi Ervil, I have have been thinking about the situation about this myself. I have discussed the matter here. Let me know if you get the BBC Interactive Streams on the Humax HDCI2000

Shahid.

Here is the thread regarding the matter.

just received one of these humax boxes today, previously used technomate 1500ci,picture quality is excellent using a dvi to hdmi connection,i find the channel search a bit slow compared to technomate, and oddly it's showing low signal strength for some channels which were all strong signals on the technomate, but then again it found nearly all the hd channels on astra 19 and hotbird that the technomate hadn't found.

Rato/Ervil,

Like you I am in Portugal and was wondering what the signal levels were that you were getting on the Premiere and BBC HD channels. I can't pick them up now with my Dreambox 7000 and was wondering what the sensitivity of the Hummy 2000 was like.

Although you can tell they are using Tandberg encoders because when on Prem HD Sport you can clearly see the "pulsing" on stationary pictures.

When the camera is stationary look at the advertising boards say about in the middle of the TV to the left, you will notice the pulsing effect.

This is not the case on Thompson encoders. Weird.

Hey Ervil! The size dish that are you using is 1,20m am I correct? How long are your cables(coaxial cables )? I have about 40m to the DiSEqC, then another 2 meters to the LNB.

Sorry Ervil, but the interactive services are made to work only with software in the Sky Digiboxes.

Rato

I have my Astra1 dish (about 1,00m) in my roof, and my Astra2 dish (1,20m) in my garden. My DiSEqC is in my roof too. So, from the Astra1 dish to the DiSEqC I have about 2m of cable, and from the Astra2 dish to the DiSEqC I have about 15m of cable.

Since I have the DiSEqC in my roof, and my Humax HDCI-2000 is in my living room (in the ground level and in the opposite side of the house), I have about 30m of cable (maybe more) from the DiSEqC to the receiver.

Thanks Rato, I wasn't aware of that.

I was mislead in BBC website where, for example, you can read in the "STEP BY STEP GUIDE" from BBC:

Question: Can I get BBCi ?

Answer: Yes, as long you have digital TV. To get BBCi, you need digital TV, either through cable, satellite services or FREEVIEW.

The problem was my interpretation of the term "satellite services"

"satellite services" must mean SKY.

My System: Technomate 1500CI+ and Hauppauge WinTV NOVA-HD-S2 on a 104 cm motorized dish and Humax HDCI200 on 90 cm motorized dish.

All depends on what they choose to use when Freesat launches there are DVB standard for interactive content, that ever receiver be able to use.

Same goes for the EPG, they are so tied down by SKY right now.

Decoding Faliure with Official Cards ! on the HDCI2000

Decoding Faliure with Official Cards !

I have a Dragon Cam w/ latest Predator in the HDCI2000. The Freesat NDS card (skydigital) works fine. But the official Spice Platinum (Viaccess) and ART (Viaccess) cards give errors and do not decrypt the relevent channels when inserted into the Dragon Cam give a error message "Decoding Faliure" when I try to see the Subscription information of the cards.

Has anyone sucessfully watched official cards in the HDCI2000 with a Dragon/Trex 4.1 with latest Predator firmware?

Shahid.

Hi Shahid!

Have you tried an update of the Pred. 3.43 or a different(i.e. another origin) of the Pred. software? I had problems with my Sky card which did not open my NASN channel(and Four & Five). I tried an update(dated 11.06.06), and it's working fine now. On other official cards, I can´t confirm.

Rato

Premiere Direct Channels - UPDATE

Premiere Direct Channels - UPDATE

This is just updated news.

As you might be aware the Humax HDCI2000 does not pick up the Premiere PPV (Pay Per view) Channels when you scan the Astra 19.2.

There is fix. Just download the the Channel Editor tool from the Humax website (you need to register).
http://www.humaxdigital.com/HCSA/

Then upload the .fdf channel file which is at toecutters. Then the Premiere Directk wil be stored. Hope that makes sense.

Shahid,

Do we need to preoccupy ourselves with the version 1.1 or 1.5 issue?
