Make a MP3 review or even a video of the review would be nice, you don't need to show yourself if you don't want to but it would be nice as you seem to have the reporting skill from previous files you have posted for us.

My System: Amstrad Sky+ Sky Star 2 PCI card. AMD64 X2 4600+, Asrock 939 Dual SATA2, Leadtek GF7800GT, Creative X-Fi, 2Gb RAM.

I'm thinking of getting one as it should be cheaper than a DVB-S2 card and Dual Core CPU for PC.

My 27" Samsung LCD TV is HD ready but only has DVI, so I will need a HDMI to DVI converter. Will I get audio from the L and R RCA phono connectors can anyone confirm?

Latest news from Me

Hello. I biught the reciever yesterday. I was knackerd to install it that evening. Well it has took me from midday today to 17.00 in insatling it.. as i have loads of leads all ready connected to the LCD TV. So far I can report is that a channel scan install of sky/astra/hotbird via 4x1 diseqc takes 30mins. I am happy that this is the first STB which actually displays the channel name on the front panel of the STB. All so the BBC HD trial look super wait to see the others on preview. the Sky Italis HD demo is Sheer Class. I think its on a higher mbits stream. all so the Astra Proma HD is delightful to watrch on the STB. Beware this STB does not have RF in. I will report further when I take for a full test. Over all the UI is good..

Regards
Shahid..

My System: 80cm Orbital Edison "0.2dB" LNB* Humax HDCI-2000 *Without super-cooling ;-)
HDXSCI 1.00.04 Upgrade

Fix for BBC HD can be found at

http://homepage.ntlworld.com/chris.meilak/

My box upgraded without problems. Now get "BBC HD" in response to a search on 10847V 22000 5/6.

To install: connect HDCI-2000 to PC; install WDN4OAK and load the hdf file and click Download; power up the Humax and it will automatically start downloading. After a couple of minutes END will show and you're done.

Software is not perfect, I see the occasional black screen when selecting a HD channel, but do a P+/ P- and the video is restored. All existing HD channels from Hotbird/Astra1/AB1 still work.

Would be interested to know if others get Discovery HD after a rescan.

Cheers

Shahid, please be advised that even though you get hd pictures via component, it is analogue. If you want to enjoy digital, you must have hdmi. Better you buy a HDMI cable then you dont need seperate digital audio cable. HDMI cable handles video and audio.

Newbie Question

Guys,
Am I missing something?
Just received my Humas DCI 2000.
Plugged it into my Sky dish - Searched and found loads of channels on Astra2 - worked OK.
So - next step was to flash update Firmware - again all went according to plan. Re connected to Dish and did a further search fro channels, and either I am blind or I have not picked up BBC HD. Does anyone know if I have missed anything ?

Doh!

Just figured out what I was doing wrong. The second search was only on one transponder - Ran again after changing to ALL - Now got HD.

Wow!!

Help Needed

Hi all, very interested in the Humax but need to know more before buying, what programmes can you pick up with just a sky dish, is there a list anywhere? Can you pick up any other HD channels and if so are they free, or do you need a card, or both? Any help appreciated.

Talking Up & running HD!

Got mine yesterday and hooked up everything on my LG PZ42PY10 via HDMI-DVI-D. All working a-o.k. BBC HD is awsome. T-Rex 3.43 & Premi*re HD are great also!

Great image! Even the wife's jaws when she saw it went !

Will post some pic's of my setup(updated) in the Picture's Section.

It does get very hot! Even in standby mode is warm above average. Hope this doesn't cause future problems.

Just cabled mine up to my Sony Bravia 26" LCD TV via HDMI for a preliminary check of the BBC HD preview. Fantastic.

Will try the other HD channels with a Dragon CAM next.

Yes, will need good positioning to allow decent ventilation.
