My System: humax hdci 2000 technomate5500 + super dragon cam hyundai a321

number 1 : the menu system is very bad (worse than my old 5300)
2: channel scan still far to slow my technomate takes about 3 mins on astra 2 the hdci 2000 15 mins.
3: when i do scan i want all the channels to come up and not have to connect to a pc to get them!
i do love the hd i get on this box but unless it improves i will put on Ebay as soon as technomate have a hd box.

My System: Yamaha YZF-R1

I dont find the scanning of channels that bad. But then again I come from a Dreambox 7000. It may be a problem with aligning the dish precisely. I find that sometimes the scan is quicker than others. But it does pickup alot more channels doing so.

Only real problem aside from the crappy menuing system is the channel editor software but then again thats not the receivers fault.

Oh and the default Astra / Hotbird problem where you scan Astra the first time and it files the channels as Hotbird!

Yes i agree the menus are not very good my technomate 1500 super is much better menu system

Renameing channels is a pain and moving them is such hard work as you have to select and highlight the channel then press red and then select move channel you have to do this on every channel you want to move why not just have a sub menu to move channels,

also on the technomate each satellite you select the the channel number starts from number 1 on the humax it does not this is a pain to remember channel numbers

My System: 1.25m offset dish for Astra2 28deg., 1.2m dual feed for Astra1 and Hotbird, Thomson Sky HD, Humax HDCI2000, Dragon CAM, Invacom 0.3 twin lnb, Dell Dimension 4400 and Inspiron 1525, 1 meg broadband

With the 1.007 firmware loaded the box will refuse to come out of standby mode 8 times out of 10. The switch at the back needs to be uses to turn on the unit again.
Again with the 1.007 the source button will not work.
Reload the 1.004 firmware and the problems go away.
regards
D.

My System: 1.2m Echostar strearable. Echostar analog+digital Nokia 9600 Humax HDCI2000

Test environment:
on a 1.2m Echostar dish, LNB Noise 0.5 dB, SNR 19 dB on Astra2
HDMI on LCD BRAVIA Sony, S-Video on Sony Professional Monitor.
Previous satellite sat receivers DRAKE ESR250e, Echostar 2000, Nokia 9800.

Humax HDCI2000 V1.2 1.0.08 July 2007
-1- Solarisation of picture; Reduced color depth; gradation in colors washed out; MPEG Macroblock far more visible than any other DVB receiver: looks like internal 8 bits processing limiting the quality of the rendering of light/bad implementation of mpeg decoder (less computing power required).
-2- Audio bouncing from left or right to stereo by itself (using viaccess cam)
-3- Remote control stop responding (regularly when watching Astras2/ITV2).

Hi Marco,

Have the same issues on my Humax, with firmware ver. 1.00.11(except for note 2). I prefer to watch standard tv on my Nokia 9800s via scart RGB, witch IMO has a better image, and just use the Humax for hi def.
