English Language for discussion of anything happening on the Sub Continent. Doesn't have to necessarily be satellite related.

Plasma Burn-In LOGO!!!

Hi
I just recently got DishTv India.
Now, there is an Annoying Logo at of the DishTv at the Bottom Right Corner.
I am worried that it will burn my Plasma or cause image retension, as it is Permanent. Anyway to remove it, or does it cause Burn-In to Plasma?
Need Advise or Suggestion guys.

You have not stated what make and model your Plasma TV is. It is more than likely that burn-in will occur. As the plasma TV is more prone to burn-ins in the first 200 odd hours watch as much DVD as possible instead of Dish TV to reduce the possibility of the burn-ins.

Thanks for the Reply
PV60-Panasonic.
But the Make doesnt make any difference, I know that after 200-300 Hours its less likely to burn, but a cricket match for more than 10Hours straight and other channels for more extra 3-4 Hours on a Holiday might cause that logo to be Burnt in YIKESSS!!!!!!!!!!
Can it be removed?

What you want to remove? The burn ins or the logo? Also if you watch any channel there would be a logo (may not be as big as ugly Dishtv logo). What about that?

If it really is such a big deal then why don't you remove the option to link live urls?

Well dear the thing is when u are watching various channels they have Diff logos in Diff variety of colors. So that if you are watching ESPN and Cuts to commericial, u change the channel and get the New Logo for sometime.
But this Dish Logo is PERMANENT at the same place no matter on which ever channel u are.
Yes the Logos of Channels can also cause Burn-Ins SADLY

Now I understand. One cannot escape from the dish tv logo. One thing I can tell you is that older software versions before the recent upgrade for Dish tv dosn't have its logo on DD Dth. Thereby you can some what get a respite.

Does your plasma not have the option for widescreen other picture formats or zoom, etc?

You could switch settings after a while just to move the logo.

Not perfect but it could stop the burn in.

Or picture in picture option to cover it up for a short while.

Turning the brightness setting down would also help.
