Dont Tune it to nss, you can stop upgradation,. No way to find programmers in india.

I too am in Kuwait and recently bought dishtv receiver from india and would like to know whether i can view few sports channel using nilesat after updating the chip and what is the name of the shop in hawally.

After removing back cover,i found small cicuit chip.Should I remove whole chip?where to solder the wire to the out puts?inside or out side?if i remove all conections inside,how the signals pass from input to out put?u asked to connect one end to lnb and other one to receiver.Do u mean out put no1 to lnb and output no 2 to receiver? I am totally confused

.Please explain the process in detail

Hi odyan,
I made some modification to your idea and i am now getting good signals especially sony channels tp.hbo and cartoon network tp signals also improved but not as great as sony tp.After removing the back cover,i made coiled wire as described by u,but i soldered one end to input and one end to out put.I attached lnb to input and receiver to out put.i kept other output free.By moving the both ends of the coil up and down (towards input side or outputside)i can adjust the signals.U have done a great job and keep it up.

Dear All,

I am having a Zenega CD1004is for DishTV. Now when I plug the power, the orange and the green light is blinking, seems to be some problem with software and it is not switching on. Could you please advice on how to reload/reset the software from computer. If anybody is having the software, please send the same and the instructions for doing the same.

I think this happens when the receiver goes into the upgrade mode and it does not receive strong enough signal to do the upgrade. I have had the same problem and the receiver goes into an endless loop of looking for signal. The solution to get it back to normal mode is simple. Just remove the lnb cable while the receiver is doing that, and wait for few seconds. When you see the DishTV logo on the bottom right corner of the TV screen, put the cable back. The receiver should be normal now. Hope this helps.

I tried to load Software version 1.56 software for Zenega 1004IS but i am unable to load the software. In this possess receiver light blinking in yellow and red.

Hi guys,

I also installed a Zenega 1004is in Kuwait.

Am getting two to the transponders at 75% - the second last and third last transponders, i.e.:

11172 27500 Horizontal
11038 40700 Horizontal

The remaining are 1% - 3% (including the "home transponder")

As of now, I am not getting ESPN (I can view it on the split screen from active on Star Sports), Sony TV and Zee TV

So which one will be a better solution:
1. The splitter theory
2. Getting the circuit fixed
3. Both

I have seen the forums and saw guys improving their reception thru the splitter, but their home transponder signal was slightly there

Plus, even I was getting the 303 Error message; "Services not installed"

What I did was just switch off the main power for the set top box from the wall (not the receiver)

Hold the 'menu' button on the remote

Switch the power on

You should turn the power on then off quickly, otherwise it will give the 303 message again

This way, when the two transponders were identified, I changed the home transponder by pressing 7531 and inserting the transponder frequencies of the strongest one

Then I switched off the power with the remote and then turned it on again. The receiver started searching for channels and identified 32 channels

But I am aiming for getting all the channels

Try the splitter as modified originally by odiyan.I am using it and my signal strength got improved.He uploaded the pic of the pic also.Try it before embarking on anything else.This is cheap and effective.Good luck

I have got hold of a disposed 2 / 4 splitter from the terrace. Guess that should do the trick.

Next stop is to get a solder iron

I tried the splitter - did not work

I got the IC resoldered. The receiver showed all the channels, but there was a message "Bad Signal" on most of them. Did a channel search, and then they disappeared again !

Now I am again stuck with 42 channels, and being able to see ESPN on the active split screen

I am regularly visiting the FORUM posts to get the ZENEGA 1004S user view and the test conducted by them to get the better quality signal in Bahrain Kuwait, Qatar etc.

Last week, we also followed your advice to fix a splitter and started getting better signal for SONY, SAB, MAX etc, but still after 5:00 PM signal start fading. Therefore, you are requested to give us some information on this subject to have some improvement.

1.What percentage of Signal strength/quality you are getting for Home transponder?
2.Where did you fixed the modified Splitter (Near LNB or RECEIVER)?
3.What type/thickness of wire you used to connect the splitter outlets?
4.How many turns/diameter of wire coil used?
5.Can we fix more than 1 splitter to get extra gain?
6. BTW asking all this to use in Bah :-)

Your cooperation in this regard will be highly appreciated.

No. Cloning/copying of smart cards was the first thing the pay tv providers stopped in the new generation of cards.
